Can I cast a vote? Methinks America won this battle....nicer style, cleaner colors. Australia did some amazing volleys but ultimatly it has to be America.

Are you British? I hope so :)
From what I can tell from my cutlery inspired battle with the gentleman in question, he must be an Aussie... :cow:
I'm going to go with the damned Yankees, as much as it pains me to do so... but it was very close
*bump
Still waiting for ANY non-US/AUS judges. Interest in this battle must have decreased or something since it's slowly going down to page 2.
Volleys - http://webmonkey.ath.cx/usavsaus.html
time to get the judges in... I'll see what I can do.
Swampy and I are being put up free of charge at Gerbick mansions in order to make our unbiased decision, expect to hear from the judging panel in next to no time :p
(SaintB, the link you posted to the volleys doesn't seem to work. Could someone post a working url please :))
It's not working now... My server was down due to a power outage today and it's not going back up for some reason.
ok, from wading through this thread I hasve tentatively worked out that there were 7 volleys per team plus a random volley by halfshark which I haven't counted.
I have yet to see webmonkeys 2nd volley due to the server being down.
I marked each of the peices out of three (harsh I know but it makes it less ambiguos - good , bad or ugly !)
I will wait until webmonkeys site is up and then consult with my erstwhile colleague james.
I got it back up.
Righty:
The winners!!
After much deliberation between Swampy and myself (well 3 PM's anyway) the esteemed judges have reached their final decision......
Both teams battled well and the volleys were excellent with no team producing a knockout, the judges had to go to points after a close match and the winner by the narrowest margin is:
U.S.A
It was an entertaining match and a very close call so great work everyone :)
Swampy scored it 16 to 14 in favour of the US and I marked it 51 to 50 (out of 70) in favour of the US.
Great work, looking forward to the next intercontinental title matchup. I assume the US will be defending their title ;)
yep there were some good ones but a couple where I just didn't get the connection or see the elements carried over. overall good stuff. I amd looking forward to getting my arse kicked in the mods v members battle.
yipee for USA!
yeah, I started out this battle... on the winning team nonetheless :p
hey, it was the team that won though!
but to all the participants... it was fun, all the entries were cool, and it was fun battling alongside the USA team and against the cool as hell AUS team.
maybe I won't leave in the middle of the battle next time?
:domo:
Congrates to the USA team:D!!
I think that's what gave your team the advantage ;)Quote:
