semi serious. A christian is one who follows the teachings of christ. Whether or not jesus crawled out of his cave does not change what he taught.

I have been very happy to find that when my wife drags me, kicking and screaming, to her methodist church there is a greater importance placed on christs teachings as apposed to crusifiction and resurrection.

What gave christianity perhaps it's biggest boost was the crucifications and lion feedings that occured in room.

So who defines what is and isn't christian? If a body defines what is and is not christian.. perhaps the should force you to tithe only with certain coins. Perhaps they could set up exchange tables to the church when they pass around the plate.

I'll agree with the organized religions that easter is the big day.. but everybody knows the organized religions are heretical.

Actually, the crucifixion and resurrection are the most important parts of Chrisitianity. Christ's teachings are important, no doubt, but the crucifixion and resurrection are what make Christianity unique and ultimately what saves Christians from going to hell.

Of course, other religions teach that you'll go to hell or at least not heaven if you don't do what that religion says to save yourself. The unique thing about Christianity is that it isn't up to the person to save themself by doing good deeds, sacrificing to idols, killing infidels, or other things that some religions require for salvation. Chrisitians are saved because Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for their sins. (Sorry, that last sentence sounds terribly cliche.)
