he must have said something rascist, he didnt complain after he got headbutted.
I doubt he would complain, the entire italian team must have been so happy to see him go off. Wtf was Zidane thinking! It's worse than Beckham's notorious kick that got him sent off. No matter what was said you don't lose it like that in the world cup final, especially at that point in the game and his career.
And if you're really seeing red so bad that you forget all about your situation, your country and attack another player why would you headbutt them in the chest?! Could he not reach the guy's head? Such a weird incident, and such a shame.
Does anybody know which referee that watched Zidane do this? Because the one on the field didn't see it, and he didn't get the card until after 1 minute later or so... It was a strange situation.
i think the 4th official got some video footage, or saw the replay on the big screen.
but thats just my guess
Yeah, I thought that they might see some replay too, but I don't think they are allowed to use video footage as reason to take decisions during the match...
The linesman saw it, the referee talked to him for a good minute before issuing the card.
so there's a conspiracy to why he did that, or to how long it took for him to get a card?
I think the issue is with how the referees decided on red carding Zidane. Was it because a referee actually saw him headbutting, or was it from the video replay. At the time, because no referees were near Zidane it "looked like" that no referee saw him and that only after a referee glanced on the video monitors for the fans, did they saw what happened.Quote:

The question is, whether France had won with Zidane. May be they had to flip the coin.
Generally, I don't like this glorification of a single player. May be that went too much into his brain. It is the team, which wins and not one player.
The Portuguese do seem to play a fairly dirty game. The funny thing is in my Xbox game Fifa World Cup, Portugal has committed the most fouls out of any other team lol.Quote:

And now Fifa wants to change the rules to give out more cards per game, seems to me that will only make matters worse, why don't they just give out less cards?
It's not been this bad before, I think this is the first world cup where diving became an 'official' strategy of many teams, some have admitted as much. They see other people cheating and getting away with it, getting penalties or match winning opportunities from diving and they know they either follow suit or suffer.
Basically it's because FIFA haven't done anything effective against the practice that it's become endemic to the international game. Without consequences - in the last few matches we've seen referees ignore obvious diving rather than hand out cards - there is no reason for players to not try it on and even if they don't get away with it they're not being sent off and they're interrupting the flow of play.
...but I also see the excellent referrees recognizing diving or even it is a foul, which they cannot really evaluate they just let play.
Sometimes I have the feeling they do it to get a break. Think about a big soccer field and you need to run, concentrate, fight with others and kick a ball.Quote:

Thanks for the explanation Aversion.
Does anyone know what was said to Zidane to make him head butt the Italian?
Must have said something about his mother lol.
wait, I justed watched the replay again. Did he give Zidane a titty twister?
It's funny to see when a football player is badly hurt, all he need is a sponge with some cold water on it... The doctors can really learn something from football!:D
hahaha Yes! :D And a wedgie :D (thought I was the only one that saw this!)Quote:

Yes, he should have gone off for that, but as they don't use video evidence in footy, the officials can't send him off for something they haven't seen!
I bet their manager was kicking himself for taking Henry off just before!
Players don't dive to have a rest  you must be a girl... :D Players dive because they feel they can get an advantage/score a goal...
Fifa should start using video evidence and after match bans. Sit down with the ref and watch the match, if he's missed something in the game, issue a yellow/red card to a player afterwards.
Players like Ronaldo should be banned for a season for such blatant cheating.
He wont ever play again in the Premiership and rightly so. Any dive he took in future, he would just be sent off for. We've all seen the evidence, its right before our eyes, there are no funny camera angles, no special effects. He is a cheat and should be punished.
I didn't say they dive to get a rest, see above ;)Quote:
