truly ordinary transitions, many of the flashers "flashkit members" did cool transitions then this.. Its all the same tricks v3 was indeed batter.

what the hell is they did in this version?? I have 36 kbps connection & my PC is PIII, 600Mhz, 128 of RAM - can't display it :mad: , evry thing goes slooooooowly.
what is the problem?? on my PC ?? or in the site it self??? or in flash plugin :p ??

I thought that perhaps the webdesign studios are a bit like hollywood. The more recognition they get from their peers, the more they can charge the next client.
Off course they have to be really good at what they do to get that continious recognition.

they've got a brand/theme going on that has made them into a nice company.....why go away from that?? you dont go and make a complete change to something that is SO succesful.

im really sorry to say, im not all that keen.
i dont like the think diagonal line motif at all, the colour scheme clashes loads, the music sucks.
maybe when the server recovers it might be better ( it was so slow i only visited one page before i got bored and navigated away)
but,
that dosent change the fact that they make some of the best client work i have every seen.
i think this new site dosent sell them as a design firm as well as the old one. it seems more agressive and intimidating.
otherwise, 2a rocks

i would really love for fk to organise a chat thread with one of the 2a guys to understand what they where aiming for on this project, and why they charged £24.00 for previews to see the site ( rip off)
i just thought of one plus side of this new site, people are going to find it much harder to rip because it looks so different to anything out there that they would stand out like a sore thumb if they tried to immitate it.
Ok that makes total sense. But, what if the designer community starts commenting that their becomming passe ( another french word ) You don't think that, that would affect their business down the line?Quote:

I think they are on top of their sh*t when it comes to professionalism not necessarily reinventing design.

but to answer your question, i really dont think the design community will play a role in whether or not 2a gets further business.
As Eric and other 2A people have stressed, the $24 was to see the DJ's, and get a sneak preview of the site as an extra.Quote:

To go to a club night here in the UK - e.g. Gatecrasher in Sheffield, you'd easily pay about £20, so to see 4 DJ's on a night out, it represented excellent value for money.

i think the 24 dollars was more for renting the club out for a night, hiring the dj's etc. it was a live show, and you get to see a cool website and demo reel. plus, i'm sure stuff like that is way more expensie out in CA.Quote:

OK I saw the site and..
They did a good job, yet the site, like I said before , is not super revolutionary, the difference is that has much more movement and they seem to have added some 3d along with adding some nice music, yet in the process, changing to red.... diddnt need to do that.
It is an upgrad, v4... But it aint worth me staying up until 2 last night.
this is good, I like how people commented 2A, you can learn a lot from it. My opinion on the site because last night i was so tired, so I pass out on my keyboard.
Red:D why all red? I liked blue much better, I find transitions to be very complex and long, but they look artistic, and I like that. The loop on the home page its even more boring then on mrmass intro,
dunno why but this all 2A site reminds me of some work that I sew around site checks.
I Respect Shane and Eric, but I think that Eric should design this site, as he designed first and second 2A, is just dosent feel like his design to me, its dirty!
Its hard to get use to the site after looking at it for over 2 years,
I hope that my feelings will change over the time!

ive been to the site a couple of times and i am still a fan...
i will reserve proper judgement until all the hype dies down and i can view the site the way it was meant to be viewed..at the right bandwidth and speed when theres less people on the site...
i dont think that anyone can deny that 2advanced are still one of the best in the business...
i still dont understand the demoreel though...although its excellent in design and all that...what has a ninja in a spaceship got to do with webdesign and "progressive design technology"...very strange
but still cool

2advanced is still one of the best to me.
I was very VERY upset i didn't see it immediately following the countdown, I had that dam window open since it read 32 hours. I have followed their work for a long time, and they always amaze me with their accuracy and detail, still...even with v4, they stand apart from other design companies. They're work is unique enough for you to look at it and say it was done by 2advanced. I liked the transitions in the beggining and the option to select your music. The demo reel was incredible, but i dont really understand it completely. Who cares though, its cool. Overall, i think that what really matters is the work you put out for your clients, and how good of a design company you are. The fact that 2a has always impressed most of us i belive is merely a thrill for them as it would be for us. Making the whole job more fun and more rewarding. Its not the clients that care anything about this hype...its us!
Heres my 2 cents regarding what i have read so far:
Over-hyped: YES (but i just couldn't help it)
What I expected: NO (I think i expected more 3d)
Red and Teal?: YES/NO (I think we will get used to it)
Overall rating 1-10: 8 (for 2advanced)
I just cant wait till i can view the site correctly, without it moving slow...Today was the first time i went to 2advanced.com and it wasnt there. Does anyone know if theres a link to see the old site (expansions)...if not, dam im gonna miss it :(

ive been to the site a coupld of times, most of the times various sections would not load... but here are my initial comments.
the site appearance is not much different that thier previous work.
the overal layout is ok, but thier attention to detail i poor in my opinion.
typography mistake in the supplementals section:
'sales agent inorder to inquire'
should be 'in order'
the text at the top is very very very hard to read (on the same line as v4.prophecy.
next to the 2a logo, the colours join each other, but not in a good way. it seems as though it should have a border edge but they forgot to add one.
the ///// lines behind the boxes at the bottom dont line up.
in 8pt or 6pt there is a /////// line between feature and press.
why?
i think the fact they have sharp edges, then gaps, then more sharp edges makes the site sit uncomfortably.
the 'm' in the links at the top seems to be slightly distorted.

i feel this was WAY overhyped.
now i understand that they have advanced with the back end side of things. thats all very impressive.

and would a client pay the extra money involved in coding a site 'fully back end' when the same results could be achieved by normal means?
maybe there is something im looking at but cant see...
could someone enlighten me to this??
overall i think the attention to details is pretty poor considering the mass hype that was surrounding the launch of this site.
the previous site had very little mistakes in it.
yet all i seem to see on this site is poor alignment and text i can hardly read.
i do have respect for 2A, and always have.
and i dont think anyone can say that a design agency such as whos we is better. or that in fcat 2A is better than whos we or anyone else.
they all command respect in different fields.
but as far as advancing goes i feel that i have seen more development from F.I than i have on this site with 2A.
maybe im missing something... who knows.
i do think the previous site needed to be changed.
but i dont see anything particularly different.
there is nothing revolutionary here.
its just another flashkit cool sites to be honest.
and i actually feel that there is more involvement in shanes site (pixelranger) than there is with this site.
prophecy v.4 does not feel inviting.
it doesnt make me feel welcome to push buttons and be 'engaged' in the site.
of course they are still one of the greatest design agencies on the web in the world.
but i would not say they are the best.
the other big thing i have noticed is that you can see where a lot of inspiration as it were has come from.
at least with the old site it was unique and you could clearly see if a company or individual were 'ripping' the site.
with this site the only thing i think people could be accused of ripping is the layout and colour scheme.
thats all my 2 cents used up for now. but felt i had to have my say.
not saying i dont like the site.
im just not impressed by the lack of details and origionality.

and about the cars, before people comment about what cars are the fastest in production, and wether bmw are better or mercedes etc you might want to do a bit more research on you history ;)

im not missing the point at all. im pointing out obvious flaws in thier design.
i know that the site is backend... but so what? what is so different about the site being back end to what it was origionally?

Site is cool, I hope they take notes from this thread though and tidy up a few things.
but really hard to read in some areas, and I can't get a single "sub-element" to load.
BTW, BMW made the engine for the McLaren F1, Mercedes makes the engines for McLaren F1 as in Formula 1 race cars, and it usually blows up halfway through the race. BMWs Formula 1 engine on the other hand is acknowledge to be the most powerful engine on the grid at about 950 hp, and the highest revving, at about 19,050 rpm. Mercedes is teh suck.
The new theme is tight, i see that they have not made much changes as to the workflow, sort of semi-corporate. The blood red spells danger for the rippers. Overall rating 9/10 i think whos we still gave me that shock and aw effect that i will never forget, but 2a are the pioneers. JWM out!

I got to say I really expected something much better...
IT'S NOT VERY GOOD..PERIOD ./ Colours are horrid...some of the pixel fonts are off co-ordinates..looks like the outer frame work has been put together with missing elements, making it look un-finished..etc etc..still gotta wait ages for any section to load..(even on adsl)
I even got a bandage sign, top left..for some reason
There's , much cleaner more precise interesting work out there..has Eric Jordan left the company or something??

In their defence, maybe there are so many people checking it out that its glitchy etc etc..and i liked some of the elements..good photoshop work, feature panels (excluding the dodgy looking scrollers) etc.
Anyway's up, i'm glad gives my little firm hope of reaching the top.
Was worried it would be out of the is world, it wasnt!!.
