a quick question to really get momentum going...
--> do we have any network admins in the audience? how about puting UD on your office/company/college/school/whatever network.
How much power can we get together here folks?
75% finished my 3rd task, total 2 hits so far.

that's a great idea!! I have tried to secretly install it on my school network, but it keeps mucking up after the computers restart, i'll keep trying til it either works or i'm busted :DQuote:

Well, if you do get busted, you'll probably get a slap on the wrist since its for a good cause, and not for personal gain. You could try asking the Network admin too. Fair enough, that does kinda take some of the fun out of it, but a positive answer would make up for that, i think you'll agree.Quote:

I should be going back to college in september( fingers crossed), and if i get in, there's a very good chance i'll be able to talk the labs technician round to our side.

I've done more than just sign up, I am getting another message board I usually frequent onto it as well, so unfortunately I have started another team and cant be in this one as well.

that's it i think. we've gone from just a few members to 83 :D i didn't think it'd take off this well, we've got a shot at the top spot - the number 1 team :D i reckon we can do it, we're very quickly progressing
juels - there'll be an update soon that will make life easier for you - you will be able to download and upload multiple work units at once, you must be breezing through the work units!! it will mean you can spend more time offline, unless of course you have a 24/7 connection then it won't matter. it'll be good for anyone who isn't always on the internet - it'll be good for me caus i'm on dialup :)

Just thought I'd take advantage of this precious opportunity to gloat about making it into the top 5 in the Team Flashkit list :-)
I've only got a couple of Pentium III's running the UD client, and so I'm not earning a lot of points, but if I can make the top 5 surely you 'power users' out there can!

This is an outstanding idea. I am 20 years old and was recently diagnosed with cancer, and just knowing there are so many others going through this retched disease is hard to take. Anything and anyone helping the cause is worth trying, right? I am one of the webmaster's at a private university in Midwest America. I will try and get UD on every machine I can get my hands on. Hopefully one day, no one will have to know the feeling of coming to grips with their own mortality.

people are really getting behind this, its good to see.
Especially when you use the Seti project as an example.
500,000 years of computing time in a year and a half is nothing to sniff at.
I'm currently E-mailing the idea to everyone I know.
I've said it before but I'll say it again. big respect to hoobi for this thread and big respect to Juels who's taking on the world single handedly
got a whole office full of g3, g4s and imacs. I'd put them all to work if only we could.

Tknaff1 - i'm sorry to hear you are diagnosed with cancer, i hope you recover very quickly from it :) and that would be a great idea if you can get as many uni comps running as possible

we are at position 549 in the results returned, last week we weren't even in the top 1000!! so we will break the top 500 soon, and if we keep at this will make top 100 soon enough :D
