No. It doesn't.
They said backward compatibility, scoffed at Microsoft for emulation, yet they switched to software emulation later.
Now they're dropping backward compatibility totally.
At least market the thing consistently.
Alright, they cannot do 'perfect' emulation without hardware.
Somewhere said that they didn't do software because it would end up just like the 360's...and we all know sony is perfect...

They attempted emulation with software...but since it failed you get no emulation! :D

I think they're talking about the 80gb PS3's dropping to 499.99, meanwhile the remaining PS3 60gb's are still 499.99 but with a free wireless controller and/or game or two or the upcoming non-backward compatible 40gb PS3 for 399.99 - but nothing else is being price-dropped I don't think.
