Falling Down is badass. That is all.

welcome to 1993
Like I said- it was a oldy but I have never seen it. 1993 I was 7.
So knowing I missed out on Falling Down for so long I am wondering what other gems I may have missed. What are some movies from the 90's that are along those lines?
Anyone see Seven Pounds? I thought that was a very good movie!

Falling Down is fantastic, serious replay value.
My leg is all swollen up atm and I can't walk so I've been devouring a whole bunch of new movies my favourite of which, so far, has been Milk. I usually find films based on factual events too fast paced for my liking but I really loved the way Milk was played out. Sean Penn is ****ing brilliant...
Just about to watch Requiem for a Dream. After watching The Wrestler, and being a long time fan of Pi, I realised I have never seen it... I've read alot of comments about it being life changing, any views? Also... is there any benefit in watching the original cut before the directors cut?
I'm having a real craving to watch sleazy films these days, I don't really know how else to describe it... Spun is one of my favourite films, I guess I'm after something like that. I recently watched Gummo and I thought it was great. The styling was great, it's just a visual portrait of a town with no real story... but it works. Great characters... plus Chloe Sevigny gets 'em out... :D
I have seen all the movies you just mentioned :)
Requiem is definitely worth watching. It used to be my favorite movie.
Gummo is also another strange one. If you like that I suggest other films they have been involved- KIDS, Another Day in Paradise, Ken Park, Julian Donkey Boy(pretty experimental), and Bully.
I've already seen Kids and Ken Park, the other are on their way to me as I type, apart from the Donkey Boy one. I'll need to look into that.
Any other films in the same vain? It seems that all the 'Recommendations' on imdb link to horror films! Which is not far off the mark I guess... :D
How did you like Milk?
Requiem is a good film, I just didn't like it. I grew up around enough of that sh*t and don't need flash backs. Plus I liked it better when it was called Basketball Diaries. Check out "Where the day takes you."
Basketball Diaries is very good but definitely a different movie then Requiem.
I don't think it is on the same level as those but Kalifornia is a very good film I think you might enjoy.
That was actually on TV last night and I passed... I'll check it out. I saw Basketball Diaries in a recommendation box , what's the link with Requiem?
Saw Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist... Meh, I dunno what I expected though :D The girl playing Norah is hooooot though so it's not all wasted.
Brick is kind of a cool movie. watched it a few times...very smart and fast paced script and decent plot...i think it was an indie made by some kids, but i could be wrong.
It's easy to be fooled by indie films... for example Gummo looks like a low budget art house film, shot on 16mm etc. but had a $2m budget!
If you want to see raunchy then watch SALO.
I swear I have mentioned that one to you before
Surprisingly Eden Lake was a pretty decent thriller flick. Not bad at all for a "dimensions extreme" release.
I saw fliers for that EVERYWHERE in the tube stations. I guess I could give it a shot.
Had a few friends over tonight and we tried watching The Host. It was so bad we didn't even finish it(I might on my own just to finish it) and then we started watching The Tripper before we had to go so I will have to finish that on my own as well. Seems like it may have a few good laughs and cheesy gore but it will probably bee another modern horror flop where it is too funny(trying or not)
The Wrestler is a great movie..so i would recommend it..also Rourke in this roll is my pick for this Oscar :P
Went and saw Friday the 13th yesterday with the lady. It was actually better then I expected it to be. It kept to the original chemistry of the series pretty well. My only complaint really is how the 2 minute credit intro covered pretty much what the whole original did in a whole movie but in a way worse way(but had to be done for the people who have never seen any of the old ones). The death count was pretty average but it did have some pretty brutal ones that I never saw coming so for a horror movie I give it a thumbs up for that.
