If you're a company, you should check out what you put up when you do it and once everything is said to be ok, THEN have the party. I have nothing against getting drunk, but do it AFTER the site is fine (and it's far form fine)
is it just me or does it look like EJ didnt have a huge part in designing the site?..it looks like that Pheonix guy took a role in the alot of it.cause there are some similarities to the taig khris site.i could be wrong tho.

See .. it has to be true! EJ would never pump out something like this... it's just not his style. If I were him, I would do the same thing too... just keep running the company and let the designers do the work (after all, there is like 20 of them, right?).
On the one hand, I think it would be wiser for 2A to compress its staff and keep down to 2-4 designers (not including EJ).
On the other hand, I think that they wouldn't be able to pull alot of projects with a small amount of designers.
I think about it like I think about most music bands/groups/singers, not all, but most: The first 1 or 2 albums are always incredible for their fans, but the 3rd album and up is usually an industry-style standard that pisses everyone off. I'm not saying this for sure, but it makes sense if you think about it. Eric Jordan was busy creating his own things, not getting any sleep, working like a dog and eventually rose 2A to a really high level. Now, he's tired of the sleepless nights and might have different goals (such as expanding 2A as a business), which leaves little time for those countless hours in front of the computer.
I know what I'm saying isn't very probable, but don't the signs point to this sort of situation?

Slowly but surely I'm getting into other sections.
Those spaceships add absolutely nothing to the site, they do take your eyes off the important stuff like there services though. They also look unfinished like someone rendered them and didn't feel like texturing or atleast adding color to them.
The video in there services looks foreign to the website and looks a bit pixelated at first, then the ships come in. Again, like the front page, very generic looking flames.
Every section looks the same. Same buttons, same everything. The buttons look very generic.
The music refused to work then like 4 minutes later it's work again :confused: HOWEVER, I was in the services section when I clicked play, I went back to the flash kit (which is opened in another window) and when I go to the 2advanced site which is still open, the entire services area is just a plain red space. What the hell?
When you click on an area, it shows loading at 100% then a minute later it shows at zero and starts up again. That's a bit annoying.
Also the transitions are too long and very un-original. They look like very simple shape tweens and nothing more. Version 3's transitions were quicker and looked way more professional.
When those ship things come in under the company section, it is in no way realistic like it seemed to be going for. It's move left, stop move forward stop done. The flames again look generic. Also, the flames are in a position that would move the ship in a 45 degree angle upwards. I would of figured 2a would of made the ship actaully animated like maybe make it look more fluid, have the ships blast by the screen, then hover themselves back into the parking lot. Or alteast have the enginies move the flames to an upward position and make them sway slightly so it appears they are hovering. If you were going for a free frame look, the flames should of stopped as well as the ships, not just the ships.
In the experimental area, the links arn't working for me. The ships, again, look very generic with no color added to them at all. They just look unfinished. The flames look a little better but if they stop, why are the flames still going? The flames should of stopped as well when they stopped.
When you go back to the main page, the "auxilerary panel" expands but it appears there is something on it then it jumps to the content that was on the original page, the expanding is fluid and nice but the content on it kind of jumps onto it.
Also, with the updates, it would of been nice to have them arranged in order from most recent and down. Now it's the oldest on top which is very stupid. people want to see the new updates, not stuff form a month ago.
The music seems nice but I'm not really liking this site at all. I don't want to be *****ey or anything but this was hyped up so much, I just expected ALOT more from this. Hopefully my posts will serve 2A into making there webpage better. Version 3 impressed me more than version 4.
The video is not supposed to be shakey.. if you have Quiktime PRO you can "SAVE SOURCE AS" and download the movie to your hard drive... this will play the "non-shakey" version... problem is they did not use the right "WEB-CODEC" when exporting thier .mov file... anyways why dont they just import the demo reel into flash since you can now play .mov files...
this is a g-rated forum, do not post that image again.
I would also like to add that the "QuickTime Cntrl" (Not sure why they just didn't spell out control) does not display the quicktime movie's controls 100%. They are like half there.
It may work in IE correctly but not in Opera. If this is the case, I really wish webdesigners would test there websites in other browsers but IE.
I won't even bring up validation with 2advanced, I doubt they know what that means :p
Just seen most of the demo real. Very generic "story line" which is only to showcase there "talents" I doubt they'll make anything of it but the shaky video is annoying and like my comments before, the world and the ships seem very generic and not textures or colors or anything. Looks someone made a model and copied and pasted it everywhere =/

Just to let everyone know, my comments are my opinions about the website, I am not, in no way, saying I could create 3D models like that. But I do know some people who can and I know 3D modeling and animation can be a *****.

yes i know about Qtpro, however i dont think is a "web codec" thing (compression), maybe while rendering something happened, duno, but is weird.
They should have used squeeze3, just use a .swf and forget about players and codecs.

I just loaded it for the first time, and I must say I am wholly disappointed. The loading times were slow (even tho I am on a 1.4Ghz G4, running Safari, and yes I tried IE), the interface is not nearly as smooth as v3, and it just doesnt seem as seemless... :( Come on 2A! You can do better!

Seriously now, this is just pittifull, extremley slow loading times, only 2 pages seem to work for me (load) and the red color absolutley sucks, the animation in various area's are better but still could be even better then what they are now from what I've seen, I give this new crapy V.4 a 6/10 for not enough effort and many different reasons, V.3 beats all!

As I've said previously, all power to 2A if they can simply ignore such a large percentage of viewers, but it ain't something I'm going to do, nor is it something I'd advise any newbie to do. my biggest gripe with the site isnt its unorigionality, or the hype as that was all town gossip... but the serious lack of details, roughness and basically an unrefinned site.
revolutionary with a back end driven site maybe, but thats no excuss to get sloppy... especially if you want to be regarded as the best.
now some people said they shouldnt care what people on here think, but what about this...

when micheal owen started scoring a whole bunch of goals he was know as the wonderkid, and everyone followed him like an idol... all in his england career as well.

if a company are producing groundbreaking stes, people soon catch on, and want to be a part of thier success... much like fashion, you all want the label.
but if that company starts to get sloppy and is no longer classed as the best, the award winner, the innovator... people start to follow and use the new 'wonder company' the new number one.
so to say peoiples comments should be ignored i think is a bad move.
without a following like 2A has had i doubt they would have got the ammount of work they have now. speculation i know, but its just what i feel.
if they were not regarded as a great design company, and did not have the rputation amongst the people, then they would not be so highly regarded and would not get the clients they are seeking the association with 'the best' company.

I like Davo's point though, if the product isnt accessible by the majority, than whats the point of making it in the first place? Its cutting out a huge portion of your audience, and therefore potential clientelle, just to satisfy the quams of a select few, which is what 2advanced has done. Personally I thought that the previous design had enough problems with scrolling. It was a site that could have easily fit entirely onto the screen if it had been sized properly, but still its sizing errors pale in comparison to the sizing nightmare that this site has become. Just to be able to view the site without having the scroll bars I have to change my screen resolution, which of course makes the text even more unreadable than it already is.
Now u got me wrong, i know that only the first bit, i said that so u can understand why he said what was quoted, he mentions a few point before saying that, anyways is very interesting, thats why.Quote:
