The Flashkit roll-canvas

almost 4am... lol. told ya i'd go the distance ;)

anyways, a html table based set up is lookin mighty tasty right now... its gonna take about a week to fully complete a flash thing.

what would everyone think of this:

We have 2 view formats, the first is 7800px long table with all the images connected. the table is 600px tall and the first 300px will be the images, and the under-half will be all the bio's, details, etc.

the second view format is a plain flash viewer with a loader and a scrolling system, and a button to display the bio's of the currently scrolled image.

the audience is greeted with the html version but is given the option to view it in flash.

what does everyone think of that. if we do it that way, I can finish it the second I get wouters update.

yeah, i'd say just post it in html, and make the flash version with time.

agreed. I think its important you get the image up quickly:) there are many people both eager and excited to see this :mrpimp: 'in masterpiece. The flash will add to it when complete -- id like the chance to scroll the entire way through while the last image connects to the first in flow.

I am honestly very very sorry for the delay guys. I was very busy with work, deadlines and midterms. I had some spare time, but I was busy in photoshop 10 hours a day, the other six learning for midterms and the little free time I had I wasn't too interested in working with Photoshop. However, I swear to you, the version I've just sent to TheWaste is the correct version.

Again, people, I apologize wholeheartedly and I'm very grateful for your patience with me.

The canvas has been fixed. Everything is now the way it should be.

Give me a couple of hours to make the HTML version of the Canvas :)

i stick by my word of a html document with all of em side by side. don't worry about bios, or titles, or flash, or anything.... good ole' scrolling will be good enough for ALL OF US!! :)

but on a side note when its all done i think im gonna be eating my words, im sure its worth the wait.

Hey Waste ... maybe you could just pm everyone involved with a link to a simple, horizontal scrolling html page to give us a preview of it. Then unleash it on the rest of the world once you get the bios and everything included. How 'bout it?!? :)

its done, and the torch has been passed to Gerbick. Once he (hopefully) puts it on a server, it will be done as soon as he is online.

first of all, it's WAAAAYYYYYYYY better than i thought it would be.
it's hard to believe that we couldn't see the full image.

for instance, how can you explain that starting with nayades's image, there are six in a row with a flying object?
it's like we were telegraphing to each other...very cool.

fruitloops - i love your image. and what a transition you made from EVPohovich's. continuing the tape correctly is tight!

Absolutely amazing stuff guys, even better than I imagined. Its something I don't think you could get bored of looking at, and as for it being in a flash scroller... it will blow peoples mind. I can see why TheWaste wanted to wait for that, but thankyou for not making us wait!

usually murals i seen in the past the contributers could see the progression, and the continuity still can get messed up.

This one i think hidding part of the previous images just made us work that little bit harder on our creativity...

I was amazed at the transitions. Not a one is noticible. I had trouble figuring out where some of the images ended, till I noticed the bios at the bottom.
