Its friday the 13th and there is nothing to do. Me, my brother, and my friend deciede to get lost out in the boonies.
http://www.odavy.com/images/miscPics/lost04.jpg
Things started to get really creepy. There was this guy that was following us. There was nobody for miles except him and he wouldn't come off our tail.
http://www.odavy.com/images/miscPics/lost03.jpg
A group photo. We kept seeing shooting stars. They were everywhere. We saw about 3 or 4, but it was really creepy. And that guy is still behind us.
Finally we pulled over. The guy passed us and we turned around and went home. It was really wierd. We were really bored.
hahahaha --- jumping Jack Flash :)-
took this one last summer ( september 1st ) at Covent Garden, there's this jumping thing where 4 or 5 kids can jump at the same time ---

snuifkip do you still use a normal camera instead of a digital one...
i have a 200$ cam fuji finepix A201 super small thing, bought it for my ski-holiday so i could take some pics.. i posted them here!
http://www.flashkit.com/board/showth...&pagenumber=30
i like the results but i want better!
i still work with a non-digital photosystem ( except the scans of course )
it's a fine nikon F 601 and-or a leica R4 -- i also did alot of 6x6 hasselblad or 6x4.5 fuji- the typical sheet cam - 4x5 incehrs is way too long and way too expensive to practise for me at the moment - did those while i was in school-
mostly i work on TMax bl-w 100 asa- minus one stop for the "richness" of the greys-- develop as long as possible and print on or agfa barita paper or ilford multigrade barita paper // yes- i would like to work on a digital system but not 1 system gives me that good old feeling- that good old quality- that personal touch that any analog system give me ... call it a love since i was 12 years old- 28 now :)
will have a look at yours-- one moment --
s
btw the pics you see here are still on the mac gamma-system- still have to adjust them-
snuifkip.com ........you are the best
those camera's have the technology of a digital camera combined with the non-digital technology (here they call it SPIEGEL-REFLEX).
I must say that cam makes some nice pictures
check here for some samples

I have Fuji FinePix A101 (full "gallery" here) and for me, the camera does the job well.Quote:

The problem is "the right time, the right place". You may see something great and you want to take a picture of it but the weather is a bit overcast (as is in your case -- one or two pics).
I still think your pics rocks -- amazing scenes.
People, great posts & photographs so far -- keep this thread going and growing. :) snuifkip.com: cool pics. I am never brave enough to take pics of people in the public!
i know, here we also call that system spiegelreflex :)- antwerpen, belgië you know ...

I'm planning on getting one for my b-day !
The best pics i've taken to this date were with film. I love my digi (I use the SONY DSC F707/5 megapixels with a zoom Carl Zeiss lens) but i cant help feeling that something is still missing sometimes. Maybe Im old school and maybe studying photography has turned me into a purist lol :p
I *love* your pics Sven - you still have some in your apartment in Belgium ? I havent framed anything since the exhibition at college.
a
ps- how was your visit to London ?
took some shots at the pier here in brighton today, the light was luminous, as it often is in winter, but I added a little contrast to these.
http://mute.rigent.com/visuals/brighton_pier_ride.jpg
http://mute.rigent.com/visuals/brighton_pier_sign3.jpg
that last one has great colors, aversion.
well, i went up to this restaurant today to take photos, because they have a walkway with a view of the valley i live in.. so i took a panoramic photo (just turning with the digital camera and smoothing the edges in photoshop.)
it is at http://www.openedsource.net/ian/photos/pan_valley.jpg
watch out though, its 4000x800 so it takes a while to load, here is a preview.
http://www.openedsource.net/ian/phot...lley_small.jpg
Aversion !
brighton_pier_sign3.jpg rocks man- great sky-
s
thanks, Brighton really does have fantastic light during the winter.
I played with that on a bit in photoshop and came up with this, the colours are pulled right out and it's a little 'distressed' but I like the crop. That bird always makes me smile :)
http://mute.rigent.com/visuals/brigh...ed_wborder.jpg
I love panoramas too ian. Canon have some great software that comes with their digital cameras, it's better than any plugins or 3rd party merging apps.
This is one I took from the CN tower in toronto and photoshopped like this to fit into a client site, it's stylised but I love the angles the software produces to fit everything together.
http://board.flashkit.com/board/
The petrol station I posted earlier in this thread, a couple of weeks ago, is also a panoramic shot, it looks square because I added a black strip along the top since the sky was pitch. I would never have been able to get the whole station in one shot because of the surrounding buildings. This way I also increased the sense of isolation in the image, which was the original intent.
:)
i just load my photos from the camera and then fit the edges together and make sure the brightness/contrast is about the same :)
works pretty well, most of the time.
Rainy days in holland with christmas...

http://home.planet.nl/~fonti076/flashkitpics/car2.jpg
This one is pretty much the exact opposite of my panorama photo, except its hard to see the place where i was satanding because of the curve of the land and some trees. that big glow is from up there though.
http://www.openedsource.net/ian/photos/sky.jpg
some trees i got while walking home
http://www.openedsource.net/ian/photos/trees.jpg
these are just some snapshots i got from the digicam today, i have a lot of film to get developed, hopefully some better photos soon.
awesome Ian !
I took these before the blizzard. It's still snowing heavily outside.

ps- how was your visit to London ? [/B]
london was great A-as usual- love that city --- took way too many pics- just one thing missin' ... nope, the sunny weather was there, the red wine was there, dEUS ceedees were there, ...
anyway
the belgian apartment is getting finished these days ( bathroom mirror and lamps and stuff, you know)
and yup- slowly i'm digging into the older prints and negatives from college- miss those days !!! doing nothing except taking shots- studio work- hmmm--and having nightly drinks while discussing printed work from that day... red eye syndrome, as you all may know
yup- i've got the last exhibition ( external, nothing to do with college) at the walls in the hall from teh apartment- nice b-w's portraits of course- planning to do some new stuff next summer (2003), hope i can find a gallery that will display and pay the reception drinks again -evil grin-
---
it not " being a purist or not being a purist" but traditional photography adds something extra to the print- it's true- -that's why i keep dong my thing- analog- and when i want a digital version i just push them into the scanner --
have a good new years eve all of you- and a great year 03
and yup- the netherlands where rainy last weekend-
m-y g-o-d - almost drawned
sven
hey lads...
love your pics, as always.
Yesterdaynight I had a small accident whit a piece of glass and my hand  , pretty big wound, hehe should have made a shot of that ,for once no editing with photoshop to make a wound.
so no pics from me in a week I think (aaaaaaaaaaahhhh :( said the crowd)
2 questions for aversion:
do you always use the same brightness and contrast settings?
and what program do you use? (photoshop?)
hope to see more from you guys soon..
greetings Frenk
