Let's please be careful about what we wish for! Many great programs were ruined by trying to be all things to all people.

That said, here are my thoughts:

#1: Scrollable textboxes, w/o writing custom actionscript

* Support 3d from other apps, don't turn Flash into a 3D builder.

* Empty Key frames should look different than empty non-key frames.

* More point & click selection of label names and object names. I'd like to be able to drill down: ie Select a scene to view all label names. Select a label name to see all instance names in that frame.

* More intuitive Tweening.

* Better sound compression while maintaining sound quality.

* Objects with built-in behaviors (scripts that work the same on all instances)

3d options , more drawing options (photoshop alike) , more motion tweening options, more and more...

1) a cropping feature
2) if ever you create a symbol with F8 (meaning it came frm the main stage, whenever you drag it on the stage again, i wish it would first snap to it's created/original position.
3) the zoom menu should be a slider and adjusts in realtime.
4) whay isn't it simple enough to tell say swf1 to play "here" instead of making MC instances so telltarget could work. it would be nice it it could support either the target be a level, mc, or swf(regarldess what level)

1. Dynamic frame speed! For each movieclip, too!

2. Quality setting for each movieclip!


For the second one, look at my footer. I need low quality for the effect and high quality for everything else.

Well, I tried to brave the long list, but I only got through the first 6 pages!(yeah, I know, 'no life . . . ')

Didn't want to repeat all the things that people have already said.

This is the one thing that has bothered me the most:
-The inability to resize a movie after it has been created.

I tend to find that I need to resize the movies when actually applying them to web pages or whatever. Gets a little annoying when having to move each object to reflect these changes.

Is Macromedia aware of this thread?

I'm not sure if you mean the same, but you can resize the hole movie with setProperty, just name the target "_flash0"

two things I thought of that would be great. One is an actions panel like the one in photoshop so that you can record what you have done and then apply it again and again to help speed up development. And number two, a magic wand that you can set to select a certain range of colors from a graphic that way you can trace bitmaps, and get rid of unwanted colors more easily. With these two things together many things would take less time.

anyhoo how bout some filters, so I dont have to go back and forth between PS5 and F5... :D I think Livemotion does that to an extent, right? *wonders*

i'd also like to see full ColdFusion integration!!!

Wha I would LOVE to see in Flash6 is...

the ability to import .avi...with a sound layer, too.
I know, I know, Flash wasn't DESIGNED to play video...
But, how about modifying the projector so, in Flash, you could insert a PLACEHOLDER for the .avi, setting its parameters, then including the file on a sort of "LoadMovie" basis?

he! I forgot, I have an IDEA for flash 6, but is not good for macromedia :) because my idea is to combine, FIREWORKS, DIRECTOR, DREAMWEAVER and make a flash :)

if i am not mistaken there is someone from Macromedia raoming the site here and he does read this thread....
