I probably shouldn't say anything, but DaVulf is getting reamed for no reason, here. You guys have your reasons for the delays, and that's fine, but DaVulf was nothing but polite in his suggestion that EVP could possibly use some help. It's just not unreasonable to assume that some people are going to actually have more free time on the weekends than during a work week.
So do what you gotta do, but let's not pound on DaVulf for asking an innocent question.
Historically, the Arena has in inter-forum battles and other battles extended time for images that fall on the weekend to afford people extra time since it's... well, "the weekend".Quote:

It seems Vulf was just expressing his confusion as to why he had not heard from the moderators during the weekend, due to his own schedule being seemingly empty during these days. Vulf has simply overlooked the fact that not everyone has those days 'availible'.
While it is easy to intepret Vulf's statement as sarcastic, impatient, etc, try to think of Vulf's statement as a comparison between his and gerbicks greatly differing lifestyle. From what I understand, gerbick indicated that he likes to use his weekends away from work on outgoing activities, where Vulf indicated that the weekend away from work as an oppertunity for him to catch up with the web. Prehaps Vulf's confusion lies in not understanding why anyone else would not take the weekend oppertunity to participate in the game...
Gerbs man, it seems obvious that he was just offering to help. It is possible that Vulf can help, although the logistics would be quite difficult to manage and plan, and probably not worth the end result. Then again, what would I know about a monster like RollCanvas ;)Quote:

Where is the falsehood in what I said? I don't recall DaVulf managing anything in the Arena. I'm not saying he can't be of any help. But as it stands, too many cooks in the kitchen for something like this is more pain than it's worth. However, it still stands that he's not done any management on these projects, so it was a truth. You directed the RollCanvas yourself... you had very little help, TheWaste and you know how time consuming it can be. Especially whenever a participant is late and the tension is mounting.
Now, I ain't saying too much more than that. I said a truth. I said be patient. I said I was at fault for the original delay.
Want to start blaming the right folks instead, I'm right here. I'm at fault for this delay... there is no reaming or other bs drama-queen verbiage necessary.

Gerbs man, I never said you lied, and I regret to think that I'm twisting your words... but you have to admit the general tone of this thread is starting to get a little 'heavy'. I'm not even sure if anyone was really seriously being impatient (most of it seemed playful to me)...
I dont think anyone was directing any complaint against anyone, and if anyone was I would be complaining about them being impatient as well.

I think that some of what I said has been taken a little out of context. Personally, I find that on weekends I have more downtime, so I can spend some time doing things like Photoshop, or Flashkit browsing, when I wouldn't have time during the week otherwise. For me, this is how things are. I suppose I merely assumed that since most people here have jobs, that they too would have little time to be on Flashkit or work on an image during the day. At night I suppose I assumed that people were doing other things to relax from work.
My bad.
But seriously, people have been reaming on me throughout this thread. Now I'm sorry for continually posting, but when I haven't heard anything for days, and when an image is taking longer than the turnaround without any indication as to the extent of the delay.. Well, I just wonder why. Logistically, it would seem easier to pass the baton to the next in line while the person in question deals with whatever other commitment they had, and then step back in.
That may be a 'way out there' suggestion, but I think that with proper monitoring, that could really expedite what we are trying to do here.
Prepares to get flamed for trying to constrain creative people to time limits...;)

As to the above, I do deal with that everyday. It would seem that some employees like to think that you can't speed up the creative process. Although that may be true... I don't have to like it since in my land, it costs money unless they really come up with something great.

For some reason I'm still up at this ungoldly hour, and have re-read my post. I find that I am consistently limited in my expressions through text, and that much of what I say can be misinterpreted. Please do not find offense in any of the previous post, as it was not meant to criticize or to put anyone down. I understand that people are different, have different commitments and different schedules. That people have different priorities and different lives. I am merely stating the way that I feel, and it should be interpreted as such.
Virgo: What can I say, as I have always maintained, I am not creative. That is why I'm in business as opposed to some more creative endeavor. I work with deadlines, and then I make people beat them. Forgive me for being this way. I enjoy Flashkit for the downtime that it provides during the weekend, as I get to do something (PS) that I otherwise would not have the opportunity to do. I do not just play around with it, as I need a purpose and a deadline in order to feel as if I have really completed some work while using it. Otherwise, I feel as if I have wasted time that could have been put to something more useful. :)
