I've said the exact same thing in previous faith threads.
Why do you need a god in order to do the right thing?
What does that say about you if you need one to exist in order to do the right thing?

We went over this in the previous faith threads. That's not what Christians believe. At least not in the Catholic version.
Why do people without religion have to construct ideas that aren't true about religion in order to criticize it?
[Why not the converse of those billboards? "Why question why others are good? Let them have their reasons and worry about yourself."]
I could construct an answer to further a debate but why spiral down that road again. Motive is a whole other topic.
Personally I like the Stargate versions of these gods back stories, they really tie everything together very nicely.
An alien race named Goa'uld that came here and enslaved mankind thousands of years ago in the name of Ra, Isis, Anubis, Ball... and so many others.
Until we the Tauri people rose up against these false gods with the help of the Asgard(greys), who at the time we believed were other gods such as Thor, and Loki.
They even have some good back stories on Merlin and many other midevil characters, who were actually the "Ancients", our ancestors, they came here over 10,000 years ago, while spreading the stargates through our galaxy, eventually they evolved to a point where they could ascend into beings made of pure energy, thus even more gods.
And the Ori, OMGWTFBBQ!, don't even get me started on the Ori...
If I am going to believe in a god, I might as well believe in them all, and while I'm at it I should probably just go ahead and believe that they were/are aliens.
^^ Now that's the spirit.
All about the Zoroastrianism/Christianity/Alien Sun God/Lincoln Log love up in this *****.
I can appreciate that. While looking at this thread, on multiple occasions already, I've said to myself, "am I seriously debating religion on the internet?" :)Quote:

I was digging in my garden several years ago and I turned up a smooth, oval-shaped, hand-sized rock. It was painted green, and had a face with only one large central eye.
strange huh?
That rock change my life (as does every event I guess).

Stephen Hawking - Seeing is Believing.
Stephen Hawking - Origin of Universe
Meh. You could have used Richard Dawkins for a more verbose retort instead.
Yes. I'm pretty sure that he's a real person out there somewhere.Quote:

Your reasoning isn't sound.
I don't think you should. Only, you've implied more reason to believe that you worship Stephen Hawking than I have that I worship Bumba.Quote:
