If you have not seen it yet the killing room was a complete mind ****. Def worth a rental
The Broken was the biggest waste of time in recent memory. Long drawn out shots and misplaced score drag you through a limp suspense to a nothing ending.
yea well.., got free tix again this year for new moon. looks like the saga continues...
...also got christmas carol in 3D, haven't seen it yet though.
newer 3d doesn't use red/blue
yea, new 3D is amazing. I watched Aliens vs Monsters and I only saw some part that looks a wee bit blurry on some edges but it didn't ruin the movie at all. Although, I'm not sure how it looks on other types of movie.
Star trek was actually an awesome movie. quite surprised.
I have seen "Monsters vs Aliens", but I'm guessing it was not a 3D version. Although, I can't say for sure, but I didn't notice anything unusual, then again, it's a cartoon, so it's an easy trick for human eyes. Does the "new" 3D still require glasses, or can I burn those cardboard pieces of crap which never worked in the first place?
I just recently saw a pic of two people standing on what looks like a rubik's cube, it was completely 3 dimensional, but these two people were actually standing on a flat plane. But you'd never know it by looking from above. That was/is very cool... If the new 3D is anything like that, sign me up!
I went in expecting the worse due to a new generation, but I came out pleasantly surprised. I'm used to Picard, so stepping back in time after him or Kirk before him seems kinda weird to me. But it was a good movie, and I hope they continue with quality. Afterall, they have an icon on their hands as well as a major franchise, so they better not screw it up like they have so many others.
somehow I think '9' could be the continuation of Wall-E! :D (since the bad guys and the settings are very similar)
nah.. I wasn't thinking that deep. :)Quote:

*dont read below if you havn't seen the movies*
I was thinking few years after landing the villain of Wall-E was rebuilt to wreak havoc the still-fragile earth. The villain, smarting from last defeat, created own army and the scientist, learning from Wall-E, created robots with soul.
I still don't see it man. And I've seen both...
the both have mean robots and they both take place in the future. duh
exactly. see, try not to think too hard and you'll see it.
They still use Red and Blue it's just tinted and layered on the glass like a real sunglasses would have the gold tint as a see through filter, Just watched Christmas carol 3D, was amazed by the new levels then again it's much easier to adjust the stereo scope vision when it's all CGI to begin with, still can't wait to watch Avatar, when we went to Christmas Carol, it was only the four of us in the entire theater, felt like a private screening
because everyone has seen a christmas carol at some point in their life. there was ZERO reason to make another version.
Bill murray's is still the best one imho
Yeah I read a review on how it has no real meaning. Just a newer version to get the kids to beg their parents into the theater.
just watched Christmas carol yesterday. Story got lost half way through but It is visually creepy seeing this style of animation in 3D (actually it was buzzed as 4D by adding wind and bubbles blower)
Will also get discount for Avatar 3D ticket, i hope it's good
4D? you've got to be kidding me. Stupid marketing. I really hope people aren't that dumb and at least know that means time.
My whole perspective of the world has been changed. How will I ever live knowing people are that dumb.
oh that's right. scam those suckers.
sync by time?
"4D" if done correctly it could be quite an experience. I remember I went to see some movie short at Disney and they have wind, smells, room temperatures, bubbles synchronized with whatever was on the screen at that time (I could smell the chocolate cake and different flowers, feel colder out in the snow and warmer near fireplace..etc). Imagine having all this with a horror movie with the smell of rotten meat!!
But for christmas carol it was just a couple of wind and bubbles at the end.
4D eh?
At universal the Terminator ride is half a stage act half movie. It was actually pretty fun. Still doesn't make it 4d...
yeah paying $10 to smell rotten meat does not sound like a good time.
they have to come up with something, I guess
The Excalibur casino in vegas had two motion theaters they'd update quite often. The "rides" were more less some first person track experience like a runaway train or roller coaster. One was the Colossus roller coaster from Magic Mountain which I've actually rode (ridden?) in person and they were pretty damn identical. The best one was a mine cart ride that felt like something out of donkey kong country.
The best use of this tech by far are the F-1 simulators at the Nascar Cafe in the Sahara casino because you actually had control over the car. The g-forces of punching the gas were spot on.
finally watched the latest die hard movie.
Loved it, i loved they way they made it so over the top almost jokingly so.
"you gotta be running out of bad guys by now.."
lol

sounds like fun really. I like to try something different so definitely would give it a go. not even smell of **** can deter me!
Ok... 2012, avoid. Black Dynamite... I want that on Blu-Ray/DVD the moment it comes out. Planet 51... had moments where I didn't want to kill myself.
