Juels, yeah that's a good idea - we could post news there like which teams arses we are kicking, and which teams arses we need to kick :) we can post comps, the winners of comps and lots of other stuff :)
a few other top teams have their own sites, so since we going to be a top team ;) we should. Not too sure about using the word flashkit though, i don't think internet.com would like it, but i can't see any problems with teamfk.com
i've applied to namezero for teamfk.com but it's not too late to change if anyone can think of a better name

namezero is a free service, they just have a banner ad there. who would want to help out designing the content of the site? I'm definately going to. There's so many cool things we can do
the banner ad is just a frame at the bottom of the page, a frame that can be javascripted out if someone desired ;)

Just had some good news from my best friend, who's Aunt had been given 8 months to live 2 months ago. The cancers in her bowels have gone, and the cancer on her back is down by 50%. The doc's reckon she'll b back 2 full health in 2years.
teamfk is good with me, hobbi, go for it.
starchie, i did honours physics in the Leaving Cert., and i know several good theories that have been inexplicable to several good barmaids.

I just downloaded the file for the cancer program and registered with the Flashkit team. Seen this thread in here for over a month, but for some reason I never joined.
I leave my comp on all the time so I should get a lot of points!

Am glad I did... I will be joining tonight when I get home. Doing things to help fight cancer is up there on my lists.
I watched my grandmother's life slowy get eaten away by a tumour in her brain.
Many people I know have it.
But most of all, I had a cancer scare this year. I had part of my cervix removed due to the development of pre-cancerous cells. I still may never have kids... and could develop cancer at any stage of my life. (BTW... I am only 21... it happens to anyone)
so believe me when I say I will be there on teamfk. My computer at home runs 24/7....

If I turn my computer off, do I have to start all over completing the unit/task? Or does it start back up again when I reboot?
no, you do not have to start all over again, you can turn your computer off at anytime. Don't forget you can leave it running all the time, as it only harnesses spare CPU resources, so it will always get out of the way when you need the full power of your CPU. Of course, you can configure it to only run as a screensaver too. The only time you may need to restart all over again is when you defrag your computer, or if you run a scandisk - sometimes that can cause the program to restart
TianaKaeSha - glad to have you on the team and i bet you'll do a great job :) running 24/7 cool that'll make a difference.
I am sorry to hear of your experiences with cancer, i too watched my grandmother's life slowly get eaten away by cancer, wasn't a nice thing :( That's not good with your cancer scare! At least it was removed before it turned into anything nasty, but i hope everything goes okay for you and you end up with kids :)

But for some reason, I was doing a unit, and it was like half done, then I had to restart my computer, and when I did it had gone back to 0 percent. Do you know why? Also, I run a cable connection. Will it automatically upload the results to the website or do I have to tell it too?

the swf must be less than 15k (clever people can overcome this)
the swf must not contain sound
the swf must be 300 pixels across and 40 down (or less)
The first Prize is a copy of Swift 3d (or software of similar value), there will be runner up prizes too (not so big I'm afraid).
These prizes will be donated by myself but if anyone else has something to donate, please feel free. Swfs can be posted in this thread but must also be mailed to [email protected] (along with the fla)
I will distribute the fla's to the rest of the judges.

My Uncle died of cancer last march and my granny recently got a form of cancer known as small cell cancer. That form of cancer was untreatable and she died june 27 2001
