they added a new feature (a mystery revealed) so something for end game players to do, changed some skill balances and monster skills/bosses
and they now allow a respec for each difficultly level which is huge since i stopped playing once i realized my spec was completely worthless end game.
God of War III... I drove back from PA just to get this game. Holy ****.

Anyone else seen the commercial for that new baseball game that if you pitch a perfect game you win $1,000,000? I wonder how hard that is and what exactly you have to do. I know what a perfect game is but it must be more to it. It probably has to be on the hardest setting or something.

i believe it has to be a game during the season, using the pitcher that is supposed to be pitching that day.
so say you start a new season and its the redsox vs the yankees, Sabathia vs Becket, you would need to get the perfect game using which ever pitcher the team you are playing is using for that scheduled game.
So I finally got Windows 7 64-bit installed on my desktop but the problem is my card is still an Nvidia 7950 GT DX9 card. So I am browsing around newegg for a DX10(10.1 or 11 even worth the money yet?) I am definitely looking to spend less then a hundred and I have it narrowed down. So as soon as I get paid for this last job I will be buying I hope.
So the point of this thread I guess is 2 things-
What are some sweet new games to play NOW?
What games should I look out for when I upgrade that really show off what DX10 can do?
there really isn't anything AMAZING out right now. Crysis 2 is still a ways away, and im sure you have played everything else that would work with your previous card.
unless you Really need to buy a new graphics card right now id say skip it, unless you want to play something like bioshock 2 on max settings or for whatever reason play a gimped MW2. The next real big must buy release for pc is going to be starcraft 2. untill then games from valve are normally the way to go as they always have lots of people playing and can generally be played with your card.
Yeah I might just get back into Team Fortress 2. I haven't played it since they did all these major character updates. I just really want to play Just Cause 2 and it is DX10 ONLY and I assuming that other developers will go the same route sooner or later.
Call of Duty: Black Ops? The list of what the game is supposedly going to have sorta sounds like a wish list for what the writer wants for a game not really a rumor. But I'll take it all please...

As a hard core gamer I don't think I've ever used this word but after the titan I just fought I have to say that God of War III is... breathtaking. No exaggeration, jaw was dropped.

I know its way late in the game but I downloaded the little big planet demo to see what all the hype was about. Turns out it was just an industry circle jerked tech demo. Whoopie I can put stickers on stuff! I can wave my arms and change my facial expression and lets not forget ground breaking pushing, pulling and lever based obstacles. Nintendo sh*ts better puzzles in their mario games. WTF was with all the 5 out of 5 and perfect 10 crap?

65 hours in on Dragon Age now...i'm at the final battle(s)...i'm out of health and can't go back. So it seems i've now wasted 65 hours of my life because i will NEVER be able to beat the game. No cheats, no codes, no nothing that'll help me. So pissed.

There's not an old save that you can jump back to? They need svn for games :)
not one that'll will take at least 10 hours of progress away. I was doing manual saves for a while for this very reason, but i had so many of them and i NEVER had to go back to an old save. Now there's no way out. So technically it is my fault, but they never said, once you go forward, you can't go back. I feel jipped.Quote:

None, I never really used health poultices. I had my healer(that super old woman, cant remember her name now) sit back and heal all the time. You need a lot of the mana potions for her though...so hopefully you have those.

I beat the game a while ago, and I cant remember all of my tactic slots. I do know that for the majority of the game, I used my Dwarf, the older mage woman, Sten, and the elf theif (who freakin turned on me halfway through the game and I killed him). Once the elf dude died, I used Lilliana.
I used Morrigan for a while early on but I found it frustrating because she would cast her big freeze spell and freeze all my guys as well...so I switched her out with the healing mage who just sat back and healed/protected during every battle. It seemed to work out pretty well and I never had too much difficulty as long as she had mana potions to plow through.
The whole tactics slot thing got really frustrating for me though because it seemed like it didnt really work like it was supposed to and I lost a few battles because of that. Switching to the other characters manually was too hard during a battle too.
not to beat a dead horse here, but i finally got to the archdemon last night, and on my first try i came SOO close to taking it down. The only thing that got me was the hoards of shrieks and lilliana was in that stupid frozen spell that you can't get out of. Otherwise, woulda done it in one shot :(
It's actually a fun battle rather than frustration as most of the other boss battles have been.
Finally played the Blur beta. Damn fun. Its like everything I hated about mario kart got fixed.

I play the lego series with my son. They're surprisingly good. Lego Indiana Jones 2 is a legit sequel.

Depends on your thoughts on RPG's. I for one rarely play them, last one i played was final fantasy X on PS2, and DAO got me hooked. I get bored with games very quickly and very often, this one was engrossing enough (to me) that i have a compulsion to finish it, no matter how tedious certain aspects of the game are. Once i beat it, i'm sure no matter what the ending will be, i will be satisfied. What other thing can you buy for $60 that gives you 70 hours of enjoyment?Quote:
