i played around in it a little last night. great little time waster. although the server i connected to was only doing dirt tracks(not a fan of the dirt ones)
I've been looking at the RE:5 XB360 since it's supposed to be a lot more reliable and it's a hell of a deal compared to the other units. I was watching a video about it, and who do I see in the comments? link
I had to do a double take since I think it's the first time I've seen a FK member outside of FK. :D
Oh geez. I'm all over Engadget and Gizmodo.
That does look like a tasty system. Anyone play the demo yet? I have read VERY mixed reviews over it. I guess they are saying if you liked 4 this will be your new favorite game but if not skip it.
I loved RE4, probably in my top ten.
I am a HUGE fan of RE, always have been.
I downloaded this demo, and struggled to even stay alive because the controls felt sluggish and the camera kept freaking out. I was confronted by the executioner dude with the huge axe and he just carved my ass over and over again. I could barely even get up before he'd knock me back down.
I was dissapointed, but maybe I just have to get used to moving slower again...it just didnt feel right.
apparently the next RE is going to be an entire reboot of the franchise.
in 2015.
I just want to play a remake of the original again using todays tech and faster paced. RE1: DC is one of my favorite games of all time. And no not that crap they tried pulling on the game cube. God that game camera was horrendous.
2015? no way man expect it 2011 at the latest. RE is one of the best selling franchises capcom has and during this current economy expect them to pump out good games they know will sell well.
As for the remake. japan is getting a remake of one of the originals.
My newest rant... so I located a MadCatz Street Fighter arcade stick (standard edition) for my PS3 at Barnes & Noble. I get it, unbox it, plug it up, fire up the PS3.
Select the type of fight, select my fighter, pull out five moves... and it stops working.
WHAT THE ****
A quick phone call to MadCatz... "Yes, we had some that were faulty. Send it in, we'll fix it, send it back in 2-3 weeks."
"I have only 30 days for a full return. If you take longer than that, I'm out of my money and stuck with a potentially faulty stick. Then what are my options?"
"..."
"Exactly. Expedite the fix or find a way to upgrade the parts or the item."
Five mother****ing moves - and I don't mean fireballs... jump, punch, kick, stand up, jump backwards... that's all. Not a dragon punch. Not even a double tap backwards.
Meanwhile, I've had a Pelican Real Arcade Universal arcade stick (PS2/Gamecube/XBOX) for over 6 years, not one prob.
This mother****ing sucks.
that seriously sucks. any diy fixes on the internet? id suggest doing the full return and buying another.
Returns would net me a full refund. Nobody has these in stock any longer.
The DIY fixes are... replace the joystick with a quality one.
I was gonna ask why you went with madcatz but after a little googling I realized you're options for a decently priced arcade stick are pretty much nil.
So Guinness Book of World Records got a team of "experts" to compile this list of top 50 games of all time. I sorta of disagree with a lot of them and how they are ordered. I understand that certain games within certain series shine in their own way but GTA is mentioned 3 times with the original being #3. I think it should of only been on the slimmed down list of games only once and I think the most influential of them all was 3 when they turned 3D. Also how is the Orange Box a spot? That is a bundle of games that are amazing all in their own ways. Weird to just bunch them all together. What do you all think?
1. Super Mario Kart

47. WarioWare Inc
48. Saturn Bomberman
49. Crash Bandicoot
50. Outrun 2
There is a definite lack of old school games on that list.
Also, any top 50 list that includes Lego Star Wars or Outrun 2 should be ignored.
Super Metroid made the list and the OG Metroid didn't? Experts my white ass.
guys your missing the point thats supposed to be the most influential games + games that are fun = ranking on the list. its total bull****
id go
1.)pong(for many the original game)
2.)the original mario(the best 2d side scroller of its time, many games have mimicked it)
3.)the original zelda(put 2d rpgs on the map)
4.)mario 64(tell me a game that uses 3d right now that wasnt influenced by mario 64)
5.)zelda a link to the past(showed what the SNES was capable of, amazing story, one of the best games ever made)
6.)zelda orcarina of time(best game ever made without mario64 may never of happened)
7.)metal gear solid(stealth 3d third person action again name a 3d third person game and this probably influenced it)
8.)tetris(the original casual game)
9.)street fighter 2(the best fighter ever made, possibly overtaken by sf4)
10.)grand theft auto 3(started a new trend in sand box games, do what you want)
i dont have time to do the rest but no way would i put mariokart(any of them) at the top, halo doesnt deserve to be on that list it really took a bunch of games that did things right and mimicked them, not very influential.
A lot of the guiness list is deserving but most as sliver said, were influenced, not influential.
Where's Wolfenstein? There was a game built on an oscilloscope which influenced pong called Tennis for 2.
No Zork? Leisure Suit Larry or Kings Quest? Shadow of the Colossus anyone? The list is bunk.
EDIT: Don't ask me, I only hit submit once.
Hell yes. Add Wing Commander to the list and I'm a happy man.Quote:
Leisure Suit Larry or Kings Quest?
