wow I totally messed that up. can a mod move this into the game thread.
also silver it was a more general question for anything wii related. if i want to hack it I know where to look. I was more interested in games and such. Anyone have the new Mario Bros game?
i heard it was good, if you want to check out a shooter the conduit is supposed to be pretty great. i have not played my wii in a while. limited my game purchasing, and i already beat everything i own so its a rough cycle till a game comes out i want
Shutter Island was great. Leo has limitless range and a lot of the camera work is classic Scorsese. The answer is really in the question so the reveal isn't what's memorable so much as how it's handled.
I actually might go and see the Karate Kid. Which should have been named the kung fu kid.
i picked up carriers, franklyn, and assassination of a highschool president last night, hoping to watch em all this weekend.
Precious was wow. I don't even know how to explain my feelings with that movie. It took 3 days for the power of the story to fade from my mindset. I woke up the day after watching it thinking about it. crazy stuff. highly recommended.
Date Night is hilarious. I thought it would have a couple laughs but it was funny through the whole thing. Worth the ticket price if you're looking for a mindless comedy.
i don't understand the appeal of that movie, which is probably why i have not seen it.
I don't know that I'd call Precious highly overrated. Powerful, provocative subject matter, perfectly cast and presented in a way that makes the whole product that much more memorable.
^ definitely agree with that.
It's a movie, not a product. What does provocative mean anyway? What did it provoke you to do?
it made him feel bad for a few hours then he bought $200 loafers
Merriam Webster says:
Main Entry: pro·voc·a·tive
Pronunciation: \prə-ˈvä-kə-tiv\
Function: adjective
Date: 15th century
: serving or tending to provoke, excite, or stimulate <a provocative question>
- It provoked thoughts about people in situations similar to those in the film.
- It excited my thought process about an area of the socio-economic world that I can't possibly relate to.
- It stimulated my sense of compassion for those able to rise above their circumstances, no matter how desperate.
Then I went out and bought $125 loafers at a rate of 41% off while others on this board were busy looking for "Mother's Day specials" on where to find the PS3 version of The Legend of Zelda VIII with free overnight delivery.
No I'm just saying the word provokative is a nothing word. HR's specific version of his opinion was much more informative and real.
Criticizing someones loafers is a provocation in my book.
Heh, yeah I'd say that falls under the classic definition.
assassination of a highschool president was a fun movie with tons of quotable lines.
Clash of the Titans = Nothing, did absolutely nothing to me, messed up story line, messed up acting, HORRIBLE CGI's and the Lead Character designer should be sacrificed to the Kraken
should've been named Crash of the titans
wait for the directors cut, they hacked over 30 minutes worth of important storyline off the movie.
if they released it that way, then they don't deserve my money for the DVD/BD
and AGAIN, the main advantage this release had over the original 1981 release is the technology for the special effects, had you watched it, you'll see that they had the EXACT same face of the Kraken, as the three witches as the Djinn and I mean exactly the same.
Honestly watching on of the Xena or Hercules episodes was a better waste of my time and money
It was never going to live up to the original.
I wish they would have spent that budget on a different greek myth that hasn't been done. So many with potential.
Dude - I remember seeing the original Clash when it came out and it sucked then. If they can't get it better now, time to pack it in...
I thought it was pretty cool as a six year old.
It's at least better than 2012 is relative to now.
franklyn was good, but wierd. hard to follow at points, but everything sorta came together at the end. not exactly what i was expecting though:-/
I actually thought Crash was pretty good. They re-wired the story a bit but still kept it more or less complete. The CG was good but not transformers or avatar quality. I heard it was really bad if you saw in 3D. The original is a classic and a great achievement in special effects.
Has anyone caught the trailer to Iron Man2?
which one?
There's an Iron Man 2?
it comes out next month
Gonna be a dud like Transformers 2 </prophecy>
wth? did somebody merge the random thoughts and the official movie threads?
<whisper>don't look into the camera</whisper>
Everything is Fine
There, back to normal.
carriers was good
If you like the Broken Lizard crew you'll like The Slammin' Salmon. It had some really funny moments and worth the time to watch it.
Machete looks awesome. I can't wait for this film.
Check out the new red band trailer that came out today.
i finally had a chance to watch Visioneers a couple of days ago. It was good, but def not the comedy its promoted as. at times its sad, depressing, hilarious, weird, dry just all over the place, but good at the same time with strong shots at how people live their lives, and what it means to be happy.
"my doctor says that if i don't pull the trigger on my gun once every hour i'll explode"
