I am sorry but i uninstalled the program. It occupied 100% of my 1.GHz CPU and i couldn't even open photoshop or other program without getting blocked. Maybe at Home i will do it since i don't use that computer alot, i am sorry about not having it in the office since i am on ADSL 24 by 24 and use the computer for more than 18 hours a day.
Anyway, instead of loaning my precious computer i will give away a sume each month to some kind of research organization in here.
Yes it is supposed to use up 100% of your CPU. It does that. But the "photoshop-locking up" thing is something that shouldnt happen, because the software is programmed to give up the resources when they are required by other programs.
starchie -- ur in the information age town? you lucky sod!
By the way, deoderant doesn't stop you sweating, aluminium chloride does. read the small print on your anti-persperant, its in there somewhere as the active ingredient.
On to other things. UD don't seem to like me(or, my problem is harder to solve than yours :P)
every time i boot up, i get a msg from, above all things, Dvp95 (my dvd software) telling me that c:/program files/ud_someBloodyNumber appears to be infected by a virus. yet norton picks up nothing, even with the latest updates. The UD agent keeps connecting to server, downloading almost all of the info needed for the next task, then getting an unable to connect to server msg, backing off.
To be honest, its driving me bloody nuts because i want to keep helping.
i think i'll have to uninstall and start from scratch, but will i loose all the credits i have gotton already?
or could this have something to do with the physical distance from my comp to the phone socket (50ft). but i dont think this is llikely.
Crying shame that the UD client program is Windows only, as I have 40+ Macs and Linux computers at work that could be running this after hours. And I also have a very personal interest in helping find a cure for cancer.
40+ computers...you would have gotten some results...
where do you work?

i'm back :)
spaceman - it'd be great to have you as a judge :)
muzikus - you're right you have a very valid point. I was originally angry when i found out about this, but then came to realise that these things take money. There would be a lot of resources required for such a task, so they need to get some money out of this to keep the project running. I'm just thinking of it as fundraising, i'm sure that they aren't making a profit off it. but thanks for voicing your concern
I am getting kicked off the computer now so i'll finish my post later
cheers
hobbi - Right on, thanks bro ! Lemeno about the particulars.Quote:

If anyone hasn't notice, spaceman3 has slowed his ascent to the top of TEAM FLASHKIT. Due to the powers that be, 3 of my faster "devices" were taken off this worthy assignement, as "this program is not approved for running on #######'s PC's." All well. I still have 15 running!!!
muzikus - speaking of the "Powers that be" Ya know, we are all stuck in this predicament. Yes, these things do cost $$$$$$$ . Uninstall the Exodus service if you wish. Just do not lose sight that there are still very compassionate people in this world that aren't always out for the $$$$$$. Sometimes you do just have to comform... but just keep pushin on bro. Maybe, just maybe, there are good peeps like us out there, and we CAN make a difference. That possibility makes this worth it.
Peace

yeah I did over react a bit...I'm not some like die hard socialist or anything but I just got annoyed at thinking someone's making a wage out of this ...I mean there is profit to be made ...I'm more annoyed cause I'm sure this could be done for free...I.E with subsidy ( I think that's how you spell it :) ) ...it should really be totally charity from ground up people giving some bandwidth e.t.c with just promotion and a good cause as thier interest ....
It could be handled differently and personally to me it be too enterprising to actually represent "charity" if you get me....
I don't want them not too be able to run this service but I think it could be done for free...ok it takes thought and work but that's what charity is.....
do what you want.
I'm only interested in giving my pc for useful stuff....
I never win prizes anyway..... ;)
Check out http://www.futureproducers.com and http://www.ministryofsound.com. There are some really cool articles and events listed. Mostly UK, though. Damn Euros! (JK)Quote:

I have good news, at least it was good news for me. I recently had surgery on the malignant cancer that I was diagnosed with about a month and a half back. Now the tests are coming back COMPLETELY negative. Words cannot express the tremendous gratitude you have for life when it is threatened to be taken from you. Keep up those units!!
p.s. I'm still working the lab monitors to linking the PCs at Bradley University in the US into the cancer research.

Team TPWW now has 54 members, a few points and time and such (damn page cant be displayed so I cant get the stats).
I have tried a few other message boards but they think your selling something or just call it advertising and delete it.
Bloody Idiots.
