that's amazing bacon man!..
it's kind of wierd how much your sketches and animations differ.
I drew this one today.. still not sure how to make the rain..
http://members.cox.net/toastybuns/stills/evil.jpg
Hey nice ogre-demon-creature thing Bacon!!
It is wierd how your sketyches are so different from your anims. Mine are basically the same (though I use simpler characters for animating :D)
Nice work Fiddle!
I'd make the water drizzling down him a bit whiter though. as for the rain, it looks like it's falling straignt down, right?
I'd use vertical lises of the same colour as the water on him gradientent to completely transparent at on end, varying in initial transparency, some in front of him some behind him and at different heights.
Try it, it may look poo I've never really done rain in a still image before. :)
Hhhmmm....methinks I'll post something soon.
Ok I've been making these over the last couple of days, they're all about 4-5 cm high, to give you a scale idea.

There is a couple more images on my site, along with the original images: http://og.fizz.nu
Those are cool, Olly. Are you using Sculpey? How about wire armatures?
I got into action figure making a few years ago and made some Everquest Gnomes, a mech, and a Pimp based on a friend of mine.

good stuff!
I'm down with the JimPimp :mrpimp:
 Radar Brian those are amazing!
I love the cyclops mask especially! It blinks, so cool! :D
I use Fimo for my models, it comes in hundreds of colours but I use one colour and paint it. Because it's cheaper and mixing colours in Fimo is hard.
The paint I use is called 'Citadel Colours' (Warhammer Paint). I used to collect Warhammer Lizardmen and have tons of paint leftover now :D
Thanks!
Olly, have you ever tried Sculpey III? It's pretty good for high detail stuff.. The sculptures I posted were done with ordinary sculpey which was almost like trying to sculpt with bread doe. I have since gotten the Sculpey III and like it better.
Since we're all showcasing stuff... check out my lightsaber:
Me Being A Geek
Oddness, I could view your video just listen to it.
I saw your lightsaber on your site though, cool :D
I've actually never heard of Sculpey before, not sure if I can get it here, where do you live?
Olly,
If you just get sound, then you probably need to update your Media Player. For some reason the WMV files won't play on older versions...but they sure do compress really small and maintain decent quality!
I live in Kentucky *no jokes please hehe* and Sculpey is basically the same type clay as you are already using. I can't remember which one is more expensive, so you might check that out. Otherwise, you'd probably not see much difference.
Check them out:
Sculpey Website
Cool I can buy it here (UK)!
Though the shops are quite away from home.
If I ever come across it I will buy some and give it a try.
It says it's soft from the pack. Fimo is hard you have to warm it up to soften it and then bake it. Probably not too different apart from that.
also, have you ever used this:
http://www.sculpey.com/Products/prod..._superflex.htm
It looks so cool!
If i ever see that I'm definetly getting some!
[edit]Apparently there is now a new soft Fimo...
http://store.yahoo.com/fimo/fimosoft2003.html
[/edit]
Yeah the original Sculpey is really soft out of the box. The higher grade Scupley III is pinkish in color and is really really good for fine detail work. Alot of movie studios and model companies do their first prototypes using it.
In the end, though, I'm sure it's about the same as the hard fima.
When I'm making sculptures, I usually build up a wire armature and then use aluminum foil to bulk up the shape and then apply only a out later of the clay. This has helped me alot with baking as well as using less clay per piece. I also tend to make things in parts. All the figures that I have made are poseable.
I haven't made anything in a about a year and a half though.
Great stuff here!! It's been a while since I've last visited this board...I'll be here more to check out all that cool stuff....

well, i haven't post in a while, because i haven't done any drawings lately, but today i did a quick sketch, and here's what came out: a girl of course :)
http://innocuo.com/battles/she.jpg
very cool drawing argo, has a unique style to it.
Good stuff, peoples
I decided to redo my first (pretty much my first) photoshop drawing, which I did a few years back...
http://members.cox.net/toastybuns/temp/bllb9lsd.jpg
I redrew it in flash and touched it up in adobe... I need to up the contrast in the bg... but it's good enough.

Just felt like posting...
the only part of the redited work i dont liek is the sun the rest looks a great improvement like the little mushroom and the house especially.
i love the sun rays (or however they're called)
the grass looks better, but just too flat, you should draw the shades that the house mushromms and all the rest project on the grass.
The guy climbing up the stairs is almost unnoticeable in the second pic, you should dim that light, or get rid of it.
everything else looks pretty cool.
The lighting effects you used in the second pic or a huge improvement. Same with the whispy rainbow.
Hhhmm has been relatively quite in here, where's melmann gone he used to post loads and get the thread going, c'mon people get creative!
Fiddle, I think the second one is definetly an improvement. I should try and do some photoshop, but I'm so used to using Flash now.
Speaking of which, here's a preview of some creatures wich will be appearing on my site when my mate finally gets his finger out and makes me the databse system :)
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/c...group-shot.jpg
Yeah, the guy climbing up the stairs is a bit sloppy... I tried to fix it before, but flash seems to lock up everytime I try to open the fla... I think it's because each blade of grass is its own symbol... I'll keep working at it though..
Good stuff olly. Mmmmm... aesthetic....
havent posted in ages and got to do some art awhile back for work. Thought Id post it here. Been learnin a bunch and havent had much time to do much 2d art. And with that said....
http://melmade.com/sketches/sketchbo...Splashflat.jpg
I know need to finish that dragon ball...
Peece,
Mel
thanks fiddle!:)
Yay melmann!:D
That's awesome, I only ever watched one episode of Dragon Bal Z and didn't like it but I do appreciate the artwork in it :)
I like the dragon in the background, those whiskers make him look like a chinease dragon. Is he?
Hmmm I'll post some more soon :)
http://members.cox.net/toastybuns/temp/suitvssupa.jpg
Suit fighter vs superman.. If only my animations could take on such detail...
And a character of mine
http://members.cox.net/toastybuns/te...pinggunman.jpg
Escaped Suit5 prototype (the latest in suit production). In his entire existence (eternity), he will never touch the ground, not once; he travels via using his guns as propulsion devices.
Those are cool fiddle!
i like the gunman on, the perspective is really neat :)
This image was imspired by a picture I saw in Computer Arts Magazine (issue 58 all about animation and cartoons), I just liked the style of it :)
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/rocket-robot.jpg
And here's another:
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/rocket-teddy.jpg
As you can tell I have a lot of spare time on my hands today :)
Those are tight! Especially the second one.
It'd be cool to see that animated.
can't believe what you're saying... how old are you? :)Quote:

lol @ nayades ^_^
I'm 17.
And is he chinease or not mang? :p
Thanks fiddle!
I'd love to animate them, they're done in Flash so I probably could, may take a while though and I'm not sure what I'd do to animate them, probly some spoof commercial :)
I have to agree with Olly K. I am a high school teacher and my students are always trying to get me to watch Dragonball Z. I told them that I tried watching it a few times and couldn't get into it. They told me I hadn't watched the "right ones". hehe So I actually let them bring a tape to school and we watched it during one of those times at school when half the class is gone for some event. I still didn't like it.
I'm not sure if any of you guys are fans of HomestarRunner.com hehe but Strongbad answered an email about anime and I thought it was hysterical:
Strongbad's Email About Anime
If you've never watched all of HomestarRunner's stuff, you need to! You gotta watch quite a bit to get to know the characters, but they are so funny once you do!
japanese would be more exact. but yup, oriental anyway.Quote:

been looking some pages back and saw your figures olly. man those rock. nice work.
i posted this in the cofee lounge but didn't get many feedback. i know it's too traditional for the forum but i thought i should post it.
acrylick on canvas:
http://www.digitalismo.net/pruebas/FK/acrylick.jpg
thanks :)
That's some really good use of brush stokes there, I'm crap at acrylics, I always water them down so they end up more like water-colours lol :D
And traditional is good, got any more I'd like to see them if you do :)
Radar, cools :D
I've watched a fair amount of homestar cartoons, thats pretty cool, maybe I'll send in an email and see what they do with it :D
Ok and I was a bit more restraint with this one and made it smaller (actually I couldn't be bothered to do such a big one this time):
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/shark-guy.jpg
Nayedes,
That's awesome! I teach high school art and I would sacrifice a small rodent if I had students working in that caliber. Heck, I'd sarcrifice a larger rodent if I was working in that caliber! hehe
KEEP'em comin'!
Olly,
I'm a big HomestarRunner fan. Those guys have so much skill. They make me want to make stuff because it looks like it was so easy for them. hehe. I know that makes no sense! Art seems like a big circle sometimes.. you start off trying so hard to be "realistic and perfect" and then once you realize you can only go so far that direction you end up circling back around doing simple and stylised stuff.
good stuff olley, The font goes well with the style of the pics.

the body came out crap, so i cut it out ;)
Fiddle, I really like you leaping gun-man such a cool idea!
The mothers Day card is a little wierd but if thats what she like :)
Gbillustration, Nice designs. I like the background on the Zero Tolerence one kinda like a comic :)
Xup, cool, only thing I don't like is his teeth and his tounge being brown, but I guess thats to cut down on the amount of colours being used :)
I've attached an image is you want to looky, I couldnt be bothered to upload it sorry.
