Hi Subway,
Sugestion: ammo for the gun.
How are you planning to deal with the file size. It is 400kb at this level more graphs and pickup items, baddyes here and there it might go up to 1Mb ?
Mad_sci
At the moment I'm doing all the graphic things. Later I implement the inventory things like keys, ammo, guns, health utilitys ...
What you see in this file is the second level and the filesize goes to 1MB, but I load it when you play the intro level (max. 250k / >10 min to play)
Nice game subway, very cool, very fast too and looks nice.
Not sure about the future of flash 5 gaming bit though, i think that will be 3d!??!
my two cents!
Keep up the good work!
Regards FlashGuru
I don`t think 3d is the future of flash at the moment
cause it`s still to slowly.
Have a look at http://www.coin-op-city.com/main.htm
And you will see what I mean.
I must admit I was very impressed with that coin-op website - I agree that the flash 3d is too slow (at the moment) but they are certainly heading in the right direction!
Well done that man!
You have to be clever to make it not slow then, thats why it is the future of flash cos as soon as someone comes up with a way of creating 3d at a decent speed it will all be 3d!
oh my GOD that coin-op website is amazing !!!
i wonder how come i've never run across it before.
it makes me want to hang up my laptop and go back to school :)
I think the increasing speed of both computers and the internet will do the rest...
agreed. if you want real streaming true 3d games then checkQuote:

out what http://www.wildtangent.com are doing w/direct3d/java and javascripting. very cool. although your
target audience is going to be only people who have 3d
cards and are running an os that uses direct3d (win95/98/ME). although some of their games will run in
software mode.

3D is a great thing (I'm really waiting for MGS2 for the PS2), but I don't play this "old technologie" like 3D games, cause there are much better things to do (or to play)
I think the most essential part of a Flash 5 game is story, great graphics and big fun factor.
If you want to fascinate people you don't need 3D (my opinion)
That was INSANE!
I understand that some of the object were made by a 3d engine, but most weren't. This is some AMAZING manipulation of 3d objects.
This IS the future.
KUDOS to the developers. This site deserves some special attention.

Subway , absolutely right. Even a simple click and destroy game is charming dont you agree....?
