PLAY sound and STOP sound

Just make a new Example FLA file and follow the same procedure, and it if doesn't work there, send that FLA file (which will probably only consist of a sound and some actionscript), and it's still too big, upload it at TinyUpload and post the link back here.

Please don't upload the whole thing, as it would be meaningless to do that and only make it harder for me to spot the error, thank you :)

I made a mistake, for some reason Flash is stopping all sound objects when one is stopped, so might as well stop the sound first and then play the other one:

Actionscript Code:

sound1 = new Sound();
sound1.attachSound("sound1");
sound2 = new Sound();
sound2.attachSound("sound2");
song1_btn.onPress = function() {
    sound2.stop();
    sound1.start();
};
song2_btn.onPress = function() {
    sound1.stop();
    sound2.start();
};

I made a MultiSound class for your convenience, because I saw that you had 4 songs and it would be a lot of unnecessary code to repeat the same for all of them. Just download the Class (.as) file HERE, place it in the same folder as your Flash file, and then instead of the code provided in my previous file, use this:

songs = new MultiSound();

songs.newSound("sound1");
songs.newSound("sound2");

songs.playSound("sound2");

Basically, you just give your sounds Linkage ID's, then use my code, which is explained here:

// make a new MultiSound object, much like new Sound()
songs = new MultiSound();

// here, add all the sound linkage ID's you want to use, using newSound(linkageID)
songs.newSound("sound1");
songs.newSound("sound2");

// and lastly, just use playSound(sound to play) to start playing your sound
songs.playSound("sound2");

If you play another sound while the current sound is playing, the current one will stop and the new one will start playing, automatically. This takes care of your problem without you having to worry about it. To stop all sounds, just use this code:
