Anyway, I saw a show that estimated that approximately 1 in 4 space shots ends in a bad way, so that being 131 for the shuttle (I think that was the number), they're still running one helluva safety record.
Unfortunately Hurricane, the bright red streak is apprently the shuttle fuel trail at it went down. No front has bright red 'heat' echoes like that. Maybe during the summer in Tornado alley. But those storms are usually isolated supercells.
