im looking forward to the launch but im not going to soil my pants just yet.

there is a lot of hype on the net so for now im taking it with a pinch of salt.

if i get hyped up about this thing im most likely gonna get excited... so expect nothing like me, and it should be a nice suprise :)

one thing i want to know though,
is this just a method, or is this a service they are going to be selling?

so, is it going to be free source?
or would we have to pay to get the secrets of propod?
if indeed they sell the code etc.

all seems a bit odd.
if its simply preloading content whilst your searching the site then surely most other top actionscripters out there could make the same thing?

and if so how are FI going to make money from this?

or are they just after the fame of being conected to such a big leap in the flash/internet industry?

well, if it does what it says on the tin then it will be great stuff... means we can up our file sizes even more with almost no effect on the user :-D

I'm rather curious too, how they seem to be marketing propod now is quite different from what it originally was. We were initiall led to believe that it was a collaboration between them and 2A, but now that's no longer the case, although 2A are aparrently having *something* to do with it.

It's being marketed as a *hub* for developers. I'm guessing it's going to be a resource site aimed at industry pro's to liase with one another.

I think it will be across between a news site, with downloadable scripts, tutorials, news, a forum (but only for paying users).

I reckon the site will operate a restricted viewing policy for non-subscribers - people will have to pay to access most of the content.

I think FI will use it to promote themselves and their new technologies such as viewpod and FI cinema etc....

I also think they will accolade sites of exceptional quality - sort of like how FWA do at the moment.

Just my guesstimates :)
