hehe yeah the girl.. but in the book she's Canadian, and a bit older, also she's some Canadian Government worker. And in the book their was Carlos the Jackel (as well as the CIA that was after him).. who Bourne was "after" and then he was after Bourne. The boat part was from the book.. and so was the assassination attempt. But then Jason Bourne went to New York, where Treadstone was, but not till after Carlos had killed everyone, including Bourne's brother.. ehehe

but yeah theirs a few books in the series.. I just read Identity and Supremacy.

I'm finding it hard to spot the creativity here as it's the title of the second "Bourne" episode from Robert Ludlum. CTRL&C, CTRL&V = Not Very Creative (never said I was good a maths though)

It's an argument over the stupidity of the name. Not the stupidity of the name of the movie.

I saw the film tonight. If you like the first one you'll like this, it's not as good but it's better than 90% of the films in multiiplexes.

The only thing I really didn't like is that this director didn't shot the action sequences as well, from the quickest fight to the longest car chase they're blurry and indistinct, I hate that. The first film really caught my attention because the fight scenes were so well directed, but in this one you feel like the actors and choreographer wasted their time training for it, they could have just filmed a couple of people thrashing around in a cupboard.

Still, overall a good film, the screenings of it were sold out too when I was there, but no one seemed to be going into 'catwoman', lol.

What, you don't care for bouncy cameras? I just say it tonight as well and I thought it was well done. I had no idea how sturdy russian cars were.

oh my god, the bouncy blurry cameras ruined it for me. Compare it to the first one with it's clear but still kinetic camera work, the fight scenes were so superbly done, the fight in the his paris apartment especially, but this time, like I said, the scene where he fights the last of the treadstone assassins = two men thrashing around in a cupboard... a waste of any fight choreography.

The car chase wasn't so bad but still could have benefited from a few edits that lasted longer than half a second.

Saw it tonight as well. Av, reading the reviews over here, it seems this director (who also directed Bloody Sunday) favors this "erratic filming style". I didn't mind it, although I would have liked to see that fight in the guy's house a bit better. I don't think it affected the car chases, though; I thought it made them better. Made for a sort of "claustrophobic feeling", like you were in the car when they shot those scenes.

Also, since when did you Euros have such nice cars?! Man, BMW taxis, Mercedes cop cars... I should go to Paris and drive a taxi. I'd ride in luxury.

Overall; great film. Veeery enjoyable.

Theaters were packed, as well.

Well said, I just got back from it about an hour ago.. both my wife and I thought it was a bit blurry, and the camera was right in everyones face.. so almost felt clausterphobic. I did like the scene where he was "detained" and the guy comes in to question him.. but the butt kicking happen so fast. it's a bit more darkier then the first.. and bit sad..

hehe exactly your thoughts here, altho it didnt really ruin it for me. I sensed it from the start .. cameraman cant hold the damn camera straighT!

I agree the fight scene in the first one was a lot better, but the undestructible taxi was awesome :-D

SO...Is there gonna be a The Bourne Ultimatum the movie?

lol, it's like that, just about every taxi I've ever seen in germany has been a mercedes, but I've only seen a few BMW taxis, but they do have a lot of BMW cop cars, even a few porsche police cars. Even egypt uses mercedes as taxis.

In england the cops drive range rovers and jaguars on the motorways, but ford focuses in towns which makes sense.

Wow. Are they stripped down or something? Over here, those cars are considered luxurious, and the cops never get a sniff of that. They're stuck in Ford Crown Vics.

Mercedes are common as filth in Germany, cheap too.

Anything made locally (nationally) is cheap. You import and it immediately gains snob value, due to the rarity and increased cost.

Example one, for certain models, if you live in the US, you can pick up your car in Europe, have a driving holiday and then have it shipped back to the US, the money you save on picking it up from your local dealer will pay for your vacation.

Example two, people in Brazil think that the VW Golf is a really top rate motor. Why? 'Cause they're not made here (unlike the Fox, Gol, Parati, etc) and costs a packet, due to import duties.

The car is at best average (perhaps worse as it does not have Brazilian modifications for suspension and petrol), but the price keeps it rare, which increases it's perceived value.

Example three, some years ago, after returning to the US from Berlin, my buddy's Dad had bought a Benz 300E, color: eggshell. He was so freakin' proud of this car, the very same motor that I had seen literally HUNDREDS of (same car, same color) cruising up and down the Kufurstendamn (sp?) just days before as taxis.

As the guy was a total jackass, I stuck it too him good'n'proper about him driving a taxi. He never liked me much after that. Too bad, I still drank his beer and stole his cigarettes.

There was a great BMW print ad I saw a few years ago, it was an aerial shot of tahir square in cairo spread over two pages, the shot showed grid locked traffic and, except for the odd fiat 500, every car was a mercedes taxi. In the bottom right of the ad it just had the usual "BMW. the ultimate driving machine." I thought it was a great ad.

When I was in cairo in the late 80s it was like that, every car was either a mercedes or a fiat 500, it was funny. It's probably more diverse now I would imagine.

I liked it, but I agree with the shakey camera thing.

I guess theres 4 books in the series. Thats what I've been told anyways.

I think there should be a new ending where they're in a mexican standoff and the enemy says "I wish you were never born (Bourne)", then he replys, "I always was." Then blam, a shot to the face, and fade to credits.
