erm. wow.
something like that. you can't sell it to any other distributor, basically for profit. sorta like you decide to sell the rights to them. so you can't give it away at a later date, and I'm pretty sure that you can't sell it to other sites too.
then i'd better keep my rainbow cow, hehe:) im planning to do some animations, not with the cow though
So just the rainbow then? ;)Quote:

I want to know why random people started hyping it when they didn't even know what it was. That's pretty stupid, seeing as you were backing what looks like pre-school animations.
i was one of those people. i did it because i thought it was going to be really cool and was hoping some of the excitement would reflect well on me.
Well-You thought wrong.
You infact backed something that thinks this is cool:

You have got to be kidding me.
$10 a month is robbery!
this site doesnt make sense. it should be royalty free animations. i wouldn't want to pay to download some animation (no matter how good) that can not be distributed in some way for profit. why else would i use it for?
No, I think you misunderstand. You can use it for your own designs that you sell, but you can't just start up fishfoundry.net and sell them as animations there. That's the difference.Quote:

EDIT: They are animated gifs. Right click on them. :)
in easy words, we are the whores and flashkit is the pimpQuote:

another possible source of revenue for not even your best work, and you scoff at it? cynical bunch.
If you made a site to sell SWFs (FLAs), would you put the SWFs on the site so people could swipe them from their cache and decompile them? If you were selling photography would you put full resolution images or thumbnails?Quote:

haha. good point.
im not anti-foundry, myself. if it can afford them to take a couple adds down from the FK site, im all for it! ;)
also, there is already a system that does this same thing. macromedia exchange.

surely, anyone desperate enough would just copy the gifs?
if the flashkit community been told of flashfoundrys intentions earlier then we could have made some sort of contribution to it.
as it is, it just looks like a crummy way for jupitermedia to make some extra cash. whilst ignoring its members. had flashkit said to its members, "we will pay for your work for a new venture (or something similar)" then it may have been taken more seriously.
It was said. Nobody happened to have read that ****.
copying these gifs into flash?Quote:

AND TABLES FOR LAYOUT? the doctype is html 4....what are they coding with? frontpage? it amazes me....they have a whole community full of designers and coders to choose from, and they do that design and code?
I said it before and will say it again. The way flashkit is handled, and the attitude of jupitermedia are bad. Flashkit sucks. The people here, and all the mods and admins don't, they really give so much to keep this community alive, and that's what keeps me here, but as a whole "designer forum" they [jupitermedia] do give a very wrong image.
My opinion. Jupitermedia doesn't care about the community, just make money however they can
