Well, I had a certain font look in mind, but I didn't have it so I went with this instead. I admit it isn't perfect, but I still like it.

No problem, I can take it :). I like the comments and I agree with them. After staring at the image for a few hours it looked better to me than it actually does. After coming back to it now I can see all your points pretty clearly.

I made them. I took a picture of some leaves sitting on the ground (fall) and then made a tree out of it. I admit they do look pretty ****ty when compared to the rest of the image.

Overall, it looks like I'm pretty upset with my production. I had alot of good ideas going around, but in the end I wasn't able to pull it off.

@ zebra -Thought I might pop in and say hi to the new chick in the Arena (btw including me you just met all of them)

@ davulf - Now that I know you "built" the leaves on the tree from scratch I am impressed at the time that must have taken. But I do have to agree with Pea and Dave about the cut-out-ness and the lighting.

Just to give you the idea, on the tree, the lighting looks to be coming from the top right. If so there would be a bit of shadow on the grass and the girl and basket would be in the shade as well.

If you are intrested, there are a couple of tools I use to help with lighting: dodge, burn, inner shadow(selectively!) and lighting effects. You could try experimenting with Lighting effects just to see how the light falls, I know this really helped me.

I always try to break from my image before posting it too, if i can overnight, lets me do a last once over before I post.

Davulf, like others are saying, I think comes right down to lighting. It is one of the most obvious yet hard to learn things. Especially when dealing with multiple stock. I have hella problems with it. And typography, I can say with confidence, not to many people around here can say, "I know exactly what should and will work" so only one way. Learn away.

Z you picked the right place to learn PS. Well besides dating good ol' O there ;)

Hey I think I have that sports coatish thang O. But I must say, I am much better looking in it ;) lol everyone says it looks like something a college professor would wear.

Thanks for the tip GG, I will have to definately check that out. I know it is a tough thing to do, especially picking stocks that have similar light sources.
