this irony is sad - if i would like to gain money firts i would have to pay 1,5 kPLN for Sys, 150 PLN for KoolMoves and another 1,5kPLN for html editors, 700 PLN for graphic editor, 1,5kPLN for sound editor and - ive counted it some time before - its all about 44 kPLN. And normal prize for site is about 700 PLN...
and Opensource if free, even for commercial use.
"Opensource - millions of minds just can't be wrong"...
Im so glad that im not amused to gain on bills... with these commercial pigs like micro$oft and abode i would bancruit :]
Look on the prices above - seems to KM be the cheapest soft. And most powerful... what a pity that there isnt KM on linux... i would prefer to use version for tux, lnx is, were and will more stable than winblows. Its safier... faster... more powerful.. etc.
Nobody understands OpenSource better than myself in this conversation.
If your analogy is true...then Bob Hartzell is a commercial pig. His software is not free. Anything costing over a penny could be considered piggish when you expect everything to be free :)
It's called free enterprise. Nobody ever said webdesign would be free. I cannot hate Microsoft because they charge for their operating system...nor Adobe...nor Bob or anyone else as they put no gun to any heads to purchase their products. We do so by choice , in this country at least.
If Linux were more powerful, safer, etc etc it would be the reigning king of OS's. I'm so old I've seen my share of OS's try to outdo Microsoft yet myself and hundreds of thousands of others still boot to Windows. I wish he could render everyone who has so little regard for his company unable to use his products....even if they wanted to ....so they could put their actions where their mouth is and have to stand by their comments. Talking smack about his company while using his products is a bit underhanded and extremely two faced IMHO. I'm a Macintosh user also and think Macs are far better at the game than old Win boxes yet I still have need of Microsoft and certainly would not be providing Koolmoves Opensource without Microsofts help :)
Koolmoves is more powerful for the buck ...on that I agree. Yet without those "pigs" at Adobe handing out FREE flashplayers, our exports would be useless with nothing to interface to or be interpreted with. Let's hope they don't hear your kind words toward them ;)
It aslo costs us OpenSource providers money to provide the resources using the same (roughly per country) monetary breakdown you gave us adding up all the costs as you've done for the programs required to create the package as a whole. It costs me money to submit to the Exchange. It cost me money to support our "piggish" developers software. It costs me money to hand things out for free. Why do I not whine...because I CHOOSE to do it...I don't HAVE to ;)
Heck....in the end it's usually used so someone else CAN make money using the resource. Welcome to the game Antz...glad to have you aboard :) ;) ;)
If ant Z has the chat already, then a 40USD webcam with a mic from labtech or something from ebay should be all he needs. Nothing fancy and the webpage could be made to altered to his needs.
Things don't always have to be expensive.
There's very good open source html and sound editors both for windows and linux. Adobe has a free Flex2 command line compiler that can compile ActionScript 3 code. As for creating flash movies with linux, you can run KM using Wine or you can look at an open source project like Open Laszlo.
Now all he needs is a free alternative to Koolmoves. With me having to hand over more money to the capitalists at KM (surely I hope everyone knows I'm being comically sarcastic and not really against them selling this thing ;))since I'm coming up on my first required update...I'm curious to see the free solution people post for that ;)Quote:

Maybe we should suggest mtasc to Xareox so after about 50 manuals and whitepapers he can make a movie that says "Hello World!".....lol
I'm just busting your stones Antz...I do wish you'd ease up on the "commercial pigs" type of statements though because the law of averages dictates that given the opportunity...you'd be one too ;)
oink oink
Yea... now i see my English isnt very good, cause i didint understand most of your saying :]
what about "commercial pigs" - Bob Hartzell could be ac ommercial pigs, if KM costs the same as Abode Flash. It really could, its even better than Flash, cause its easier... Bob Hartzell is a human, and hes got to eat, drink, sleep and use Internet ;) He wont eat rats or wild berries - its a civilised world. But to buy bread, he needs to have $. KM isnt very popular, so it cost, but if it would be more popular, it could cost less - 10 copies for 40$ == 20 copies for 20$... and if it cheapest, the most number of people buys it. More ppl buys it - it can cheapest... Bill Gts isnt a pig, cause not he dictates prices for Winblows. But the micro$oft team... do you know that over 60% of private users has illegal os in Poland - because its too expensive... Lucky that my winblows was added to comp...
And what about Linux... i would use it, if not my parents - they use a computer a lot, but they wont be able to learn linux...
What about popularity of Win and Lin - if Linux would use grafical interface, it would be more popular. Why graphics programs are designed for win? because its more popular...
Im using windows because of my parents, skype and graphics soft. Programming soft was, is and will be better for Lin...
Linux is like a Wigwam - no gates, no windows and an Apache inside :]
lol now i dont know my saying was correct, but i think you sholud figure out what i was thinking about :]
Cracked copies of any expensive software abound. Always have ..always will...it's what drives the market for hackers. It's doesn't make it right though...it just makes it what it is...a fact.
Swish...heavily hacked....Flash...the same...even Koolmoves I've discovered is fair game and to me it's rather inexpensive even taking updates into consideration (though I have no clue yet what the update will cost me so I can add it up over the expected life of my use).
As for Linux...I dedicated one whole year to the platform...server and all. It was fun...interesting and definitely a different way of doing things. In the end though...I was glad to return to the real world.
So it's all good man...as long as you are here and happy...who cares how you arrived ...Peace man
