I think they look stunning... a floating gun is stupid! :D It looks like this movie is going to have an element of realism to it... as much as a movie about robots that turn in to everyday items can :D

I've been following this whole circus pretty closely. So from what I gather, the movie will focus on humans and not robots.
Rumors:
The Transformers have been on Earth for a long time.
Supposedly Spike finds an old camaro (Bumblebee) then finds out it is a Transformer. Around the end of the movie Bumblebee gets upgraded to a 2006 Camaro.
Megatron is too arrogant to choose an earth 'vehicle' so he remains in his cybertonian shape.
Soundwave was cut from this movie! But Frenzy will be in it, and he will be small and somewhat human size.
I don't like where this movie is going at all. I don't like these renders at all. There's nothing here, except maybe names / voice actors that resemble the G1 TFs that we all know and love. The writers have said that we will see the rivalry between Megatron and Starscream, and that we will recognise the characters from their 'personality.' But these renders are lame. Somebody mentioned Bionicle, and I have to agree. Even the Cyberton series TFs are cooler than these in robot mode.
Sure I will probably watch the movie, but it won't be the movie that I have been anticipating for 20 years :)
VW won't allow anybody to use their vehicles where violence is involved.Quote:

Now... Bumblebee being a new Camaro... that part I find interesting and impressive. I mean, he was indeed a "scout", so being first in and out means he had to have some speed.
No Soundwave in the movie though... I mean, C'MON!? Next to Starscream - the guy that voiced him originally has unfortunately passed away - Soundwave was the definitive Decepticon.
The fact that they're doing both renders and actual robots/props... I'm impressed with that. Now... I wonder if that Mini Cooper transformer will be in there though... that was quite impressive when I first saw that.
Bumblebee was always an underdog, a weaking. The bug matched his persona, not to mention his name. I'd prefer even a trendy Mini over the Camaro.Quote:

short, little Joe Pesci-ish dudes with more attitude than their mouth can afford. sounds like Bumblebee to me.
i still thought beastwars was an awesome show
I would love to see a scene with Devastator in it.
Do you think they'll explain why these robot aliens chose the form of vehicles?
Just read a PDF of an early script. Megatron's "character development" is on p103 of 112, in like his only line. NO rivarly between him and Starscream.
I'll try to find the link for it, but let's hope they changed a hell of a lot.
Hasbro COO
Quote:
After intensely negative fan reaction to the leak of the Transformers Movie Megatron, Hasbro COO Brian Goldner has responded on the Don Murphy Forums. "Good Afternoon--Let me answer your questions. Starscream is simply the coolest, most aggressive military jet in the skies. The military has given us unprecedented access to deliver this character to the audience in the most compelling way. He is Very much like G1. As noted to Nelson earlier in the week, the details, deco, weapons, and sculpt itself will change as we move from grey model to final form. Megatron is an early style board. Without revealing too much of the story, there is a very important reason for his look to have evolved from pure G1; although the final look is a work-in-progress--ILM has just recently begun all their CGI development. Megatron has a iconic personality, and approach that dates back to G1. Throughout time he has had a very big gun....
*too old for this thread.*
I've seen early pictures of Starscream too... too damn bulky. Looked like a bulldozer and F-16 lovechild...Quote:

Megatron's got an android anus mouth.
I still can't understand how he went from this in G1 to a blob of molten solder. The two aren't even close. Why is that robots from space are always these million part chrome killing machines? At least the mechs in Robotech and Gundam made sense from a practical / useable standpoint.
I like Hasbro's response: "Megatron is an early style board."
They're pretty much saying, "the throwing as much random crap together as possible idea completely failed, so now we have to start over."
... hopefully.
I can only imagine how the meeting must have went...
"Alright, who's psyched about this new Megatron movie!?"
*cheers*
"Alright, we need to give Megatron a new look, any suggestions... Yes, Travis..."
"Check this out!"
"I don't even know what the hell I'm looking at!"
"Whoooooooo cares!"
*cheers*
