You might be surprised. I'm really not familiar with Australian birds, but there seems to be many varieties of smaller birds here that can be coaxed right into your hand, if you take the effort to be out there all the time. They just have to get use to you. I have a Downey woodpecker at another feeder taking peanuts right out of my fingers. This is just incredible to me. I never would have believed it. So when the feeder here in my yard started getting activity, one of the first birds to show up was a pair of Downies. And yesterday, I walked within two or three feet of one of them before it paid any attention to me. :D
But a hide is a very good tool, and my birding book says that a car is a fine mobile hide. They see a lump, not a person. Lumps aren't any threat. :D
so how to build this tit feeder??
I can invest in building ones, but I won't share the pics ;)
