Render,
can't believe no one has commented on that 3dsm work with the jeep - i take it that is seperate from flash?
Lux,
As always those graphics are lush. Im impressed that you are taking on an MMORPG with only four people in the team... When are you envisaging completion? and also will it be free to play?
chaseNYC,
Tell me all those dots in the background are particles! I know they won't be - but wouldn't it be nice? I think with those space games you have just got to use every trick in the book to get as much 'going on' on screen as you can at one time :-)
Personally, i have been working on a project for just over two weeks.. although they are still programming graphics i will post a screeny anyway. Im going to be as geeky as lux and post up the gorey details so far:
http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/3997/screen14wp.png
1200 lines of code
300 cups of tea
19 files
14 classes
2 weeks (evenings)

Nah, 2KH is planned as a single player format, first... then, upon completion, we'll try to approach several socket server companies, to see if they want to "sponsor" the game, and help us plug a very simple Player vs Player + chat module (the idea is to provide a fun SP experience to build a character up, then, be able to pit it against other people) - depending on the cost of hosting, and the deal we can make, we will see how it goes from there ... and I have no ETA on completion, it depends on many parameters - it's going slowly, but nicely :)Quote:

Here's one of my current projects, guess some people may have heard a bit about it already:
http://candystandblog.blogspot.com/
( Entry: Eclipse Polarity: Game Video in case it's been bumped down ).
Also doing a game for Grolsch which was inspired by the Honda ad / impossible machines, where you've got to get a ball across a bar using various bar related stuff. That should be live by the start of next week too.
Looking pretty free after that, which is nice :)
Some great looking stuff in this thread, hope to see it all come to pass ( I've not been able to face looking at the old threads 'cause there's so much in there I've promised which is still sitting on my hd ).
Squize.
Well since we got this thread going, thought I would post an update to my enforcer game.
As stated previously, I am running into alot of problems with my original concept, so after studying my muse "Lethal Enforcer" I have decided to just make a remake of that same game, just with updated graphics. I'm really having alot of fun with it, and since the game has already been made I have a product to look at and see what I can improve and what works well.
So I am a bit excited about it now, I plan to still use my originaly created level as some sort of bonus level, or un-lockable level for those who beat the game.
Here are some screen shots
here is a youtube video of the original game (which I am sure everyone has played back in the day)

These screen shots are of just of the seperate models and some animation sequences.
Hi Folks,
Just a little game i'm putting together at the moment.
It's going great but for a little problem i'm having with the bouns boxes.
Need to crank the speed up and add more levels, Bonus levels.
Taking awhile as i'm doing this in my spare time.
The link is here...

Ivorsmallun...
im jealous
although im barely doing anything about it at the moment, i am too at least thinking about all the games yet-to-come
1st game idea: much revised version of what i made at first: a pong game based in space, with a plot, (hopefully) much better graphics, and so many features people wont believe its even pong
2nd: a game completely made of paper (and other school supplies), should be quite easy to do i would think, how hard could it be to doodle?
3rd: dont know how to explain this one, imagine a heliattack type style, but with vehicles instead, and other cool physicy things (train without a track? that should be fun to drive)
all of these are barely ideas, i just think of some funny lines, picture some nice vector graphics, and think of kickass ideas and think "that can go right...there"
I can't decide whether to hate everyone else for making my game look like crap or to hate myself for making a game that looks like crap.
@tomsamson: oooo I wanna see more about >titan<
@marmotte: wwwwhhhhheeeeennnn exactly will it be online and wheeeeerrrreeee?
umm, not sure but I think I found a bug, right before the level was completed i got a box that froze me, when the next level was about to start a second bucket appeared, then once level started my frozen bucket disappeared...Quote:

looks cool, where are the graphics from?
Thanks =]
The graphics are all riped from SNES Seiken Densetsu 3 (or secret of mana 2 in EUA, excellent game by the way).
It's lagging at night ^^
You'd better use some bitmapdata palette changes I think.
:) and i would love to show more of the actual game but sadly that won´t work at this point. (Bound to a NDA like most of the times).Quote:

We´ve started working on titans a good while ago as freetime project.
(As subtle idea to see around how long exactly, does anyone remember since when it says "team titan secret lair" below my tomsamson avatar tag here on fk? ;) )
We had big plans for it right from the start, this should be our biggest game, the game we maybe even bring on console later.
Well,as we expected we couldn´t do that right away, besides technical barriers like getting more into c++ and specifically console game dev there´s of course the huge money barriere regarding dev and release costs for console games which hinders indy developers to do it easily.
We still believed in the project though and worked a good while on art and several dummy test engines. Just in flash, but it helped us bring the concept forward a lot.
Next i heard of a mobile 3d contest, which was essentially about doing a game concept for a cell phone 3d game. The winner prizes included getting a porting deal for the game with release option on mobile.
Well,we took part, our game made it among the finalist 12 among tons of entries (sadly the contest was screwed up then by some of the organisers who should have sent dev kits out to all finalists to do a playable demo of their game with those kits but they didn´t (till last week before deadline ;-) ), so that at the end only those finalists could submit an entry on time for the final round of the multi round contest who already had such dev kits).
Well, anyway,at the end we got 3ds max for free as reward for becoming finalists (which we obviously used heavily in some of our games since then ;) ) and way more important it strengthened our believe in the game,if we somehow made it to get to show it a bigger audience there was obviously a chance that a big crowd would like it =)
That was great, but yup, then we put the game on hold for a long timespan anyway, without the option of financial support it just wasn´t realistic we could pull the full dev time and release it on our own on consoles and yup, even for a webgame it was too expensive in production scale for any clients we had up to then.
Instead we made several other games for clients, always with the thought one day there would be the right person or company seeing the potential and wanting to invest into it to have some version of this game =)
Well, long story short, the time has come and we´re working on it again :)
I could show some older images we have of our first mockups for the game (which are of course not under any new contract NDA),though yeah, the new one is quite different in many way,so why bother :)
At the end we´ll have some months with lots of work and finally see if people like it as much as i hope they do =)
We have some more sweet stuff in the pipeline besides titans, but yup, titans is my baby for a long time, that´s why i´m so excited about seeing how it grows up =)
Wow, everyhting is looking great guys. Looking forward to playing alot of these once they come out.
render, are those tank screens for a game or just a 3D project? Look'n pretty good. Really liked the mud effect, how'd you rig that sucker?
ever, look'n awesome man. Really shapin up to be a flash version of that police game. The 3d and the bad guys look great.
squize and tom, can't wait too see eclipse polarity in action. Oh and good luck with that titan game. That guy looks really cool.
ooo, titans is back in development :D been wanting to play it for ages! :p
Squize - that vid of eclipse is looking sweet :)
Ali
Good luck guys! Knowing quality of your work I realize titans will be something incredible!Quote:

Can't wait :)

Ye, that "night mode" was just for fun, it is really lagging but... well, it is not a priority. On the other hand, i am not really familiar with bitmapdata palletes, i will take a closer look to this, maybe it can be usefull not for this, but for other ideas that are coming in my mind =PQuote:
