ok I guess I misunderstood you. It sounded like you were implying I can't complain about CNN without mentioning that Fox News does the same thing. I don't watch Fox so I wouldn't know. I must be tired.

All sensationalist journalism sucks when it's a sell, or ploy to sell, only at the expense of others.
And the aforementioned mentions are both... atrocious.
Another mass shooting in the US?
It must be Tuesday.
As to the circumstances of two scenes, I heard that the first is his ex? girlfriend and her new boyfriend. Guess it just got easier after that.
i flipped on CNN headline news last night around 10-10:30pm, and they had their segment of "Showbiz Tonight"....instead of talking about the normal celebrity babble what was their headline story? "The Virginia Tech massacre...how hollywood may have played a role in the shooting". the host comes on and says "Is hollywood to blame for this horrible tragedy? Let's take a deeper look". I quickly cursed at the TV and switched the channel with disgust.Quote:

couldn't it just be that someone was just out of their mind and was sick and twisted?
within an hour of the story hitting media outlets jack thompson claimed to have inside evidence that video games played a key role in the shooting.Quote:

There were some killer quotes on BBC this morning about America and gun crime.
I think its stupid that the police just assume the gunner had ran off after shooting the first two victims, surely they should have evacuated or something?

Some of the comments on the BBC section are right. The media have turned focus more to a political debate rather than thinking about people who died.
Of course... There's lots of students. But still. Can't you do anything else than sending an email?Quote:

Everywhere I look now I see "Massacre at Virginia Tech" - seems to be the sound-bite they've settled on for the DC market. :(
Hard to believe this - 32 people, that's my entire company.
My brother-in-law just graduated last year; one of his roomates (a 6 foot asian guy) was a nut job - failed out of classes and started selling bootleg DVDs from his trunk while parked in the middle of their quad. Ended up being committed. For about 3 hours yesterday, he had me convinced his roomate was the shooter. Till he popped up on IM to check up on his old roomies.
Having flashbacks to the sniper incidents a few years ago...
So does the hope for an open mind work both sides? I don't know that I've met many gun ownership advocates that were truly open minded about the possibility that stricter controls may result in a positive impact.Quote:

Please people... this is a sickening situation and you want to derail it into a petty convo about gun laws in your respective countries?
Just be happy that you're in whatever country you're in, and believe the way you do. People died. Your comments are very petty in the scheme of things.
Mine included.
And I know what's next... go ahead, target me with your rhetoric. Or just do what's sensible... start a new thread about gun laws and your beliefs.
In the Sudan if you get caught having sexual intercourse with a goat you have to give it's owner some money and marry the goat. Nearly as bad as being lynched.

he needs a statue made or something.
My cousin's girlfriend was on campus.
And now she's dead, because the guy was a good shot. **** all of you.
Put all the law related stuff over in Japangreg's thread.
you can read some of this guy's writings here...http://newsbloggers.aol.com/2007/04/...ng-huis-plays/
Check out CNN's headline now "SICK AND TWISTED WRITINGS".
So I read them, to be honest they are bad but I've seen much harsher violence in screenplays and films written by "normal" people like Tarantino. These writings aren't that bad, but this kid obviously had some anger issues.
i didnt read his whole play because i dont have any interest in that... but i did read the first pages and the title itself is retarded. If u read it, u can already tell the kid is foreign, trying to be tough by using all this language and ****. the guy that sold him the gun said he was just some boyscout asian man and he had a thing against rich kids.... yet he goes to college himself. go figure
i would like to know about your insights into this matter, gshock.
please elaborate
Gshock you never seem to amaze me with every post you do.
But to comment on the plays- I read like 3 pages of one of them and then thought to myself WHY are they even online and hosted for people to read?
