Looks like a very angry character from Dragon Ball Z bumping uglies with a rabbit!
Looks like Zack Morris designed it.
It won't translate to garments well at all. Too many stitches to make embroidery affordable and too ink heavy to make screen printing legible.
on the site there is a create your own design.
It's not for the logo though. It's downloading a template of some random geometric shape(s), using that as a basis for a design, and uploading it to the site. Almost like a battle image to be honest. Look at some of the samples to get the gist.Quote:

Previous logos have at times been "kooky", but not out and out ugly as this one is without doubt.Quote:

I was going to try and edit my last post with the same images (and recall my comments) but couldn't do it in time.
I guess what separates those others is that the text and olympic rings are separated from the logo, identifier, bug or whatever you want to call it.
hip designs and neon colors! the 80's are back!
I read a comment where one of the athletes (backing the organisers of course) described it as "like graffiti". If they wanted something "edgy" and graffiti-like then why not get one of the high profile graf artists to contribute, rather than a corporate design agency made up of 40+ year olds "trying" to be edgy??
The idea wasn't necessarily bad, however the execution is atrocious!
When the 2002 Olympics were first announced in Salt Lake City they designed a pretty ugly (although not as hideous as the London logo).

They ended up getting a lot of complaints about it and ended up changing it to:
http://content.answers.com/main/cont...mpics_logo.png
which in my opinion is tons better. I wonder if this logo/color scheme/website design will stick.

I really like the idea of having something a bit different but this is just an embarrassment. There's plenty of people on this site that could do a better job.
I wonder what the odds are on them changing it? Might have a bet on it..
If they would have held a competition to design the logo i'm sure that they would have gotten some pretty cool entries. There is so much talent out there but it seems that when someone with a lot of power thinks that they are better than everyone else it ends up sucking pretty bad.
One of my favourites that somebody submitted to the BBC:
"Dear BBC, I knocked up this running figure in 10 minutes in my lunch hour. Please may I have my £400,000."

I'm calling fake. The logo and site couldn't be that bad in real life.
you're in denial.Quote:
