If I recall. It wasn't really there chose. Where ever they crashed they scan there area and take the objects around them so they fit into that area. that might be off somewhat, but thats what I recall from the cartoons.

There is a point in the movie where one of them chooses another form. Ie, that is incorrect.
I know a few of them had 2 different transformations. But I don't recall them ever changing there forum.
I haven't seen it yet, but only very few of the 'original' transformers. IE Alpha, Beta, Prototype ones could take more than one form and that was usually limited to only one other similar form.
The form they first take is kind of imprinted into them and the body adjusts to it so that is the only form that could be taken. From what I remember they looked humanoid before they chose a form then some form of nano-tech changed them and they got to shape change.
There was one that had a whole library of shapes and could change to nearly anything at will.
OMG, saw it over the Holiday. Wow, one of the greatest movies I've seen. The realism on the bots, just mind boogling. Same goes with there transformations. Just amazing, Light and Magic did a kick @$$ job
still waiting to see what gerbick thought of it.
I was shocked, it was actually good.
I really wasn't that shocked. Of course I decided months ago that I was going to get to see big ass robots fight on the big screen and that that would be enough for me no matter what.
Just saw it last night. Amazing. Easily the best effects I've ever seen in a movie. The robots movements were fluid, but carried weight. They didn't stand out as being digital characters, which is nice, not being distracted by shotty 3D. Its probably the best job anyone could do with the source material. Plus Spielberg was associate producer, and is known to be a huge transformers fan.
I don't think this was really meant to fit into the cartoon transformers universe (Optimus Prime would already be dead), so they were pretty much free to tell their own interpretation on the story.
The only complaint I have is how close the camera was to the busy action. It was really hard to tell what you were looking at during the battles.
*Spoiler*
Did you notice one of them was an xbox 360. The transform sound was the same one as when xbox first boots up. Wonder how much Microsoft paid to get that in there.Quote:

Oh, and did anyone else leave the theater and look at every car on the way home expecting them to sprout legs.
No? I knew I was crazy....
Yeah I think I did the same thing.
I remember when ever they'd pan into a driving scene and thinking, "ah, these must be the real world props for driving scenes." and then as soon as you're up close the fk'r starts transforming! Anyone catch the kill bill music for bb?
So funny you should mention that. I told my friends the same thing leaving the theatre.Quote:

Only complaint is that many of the Transformers didn't really have a well thought out character. And there's a few holes in the storyline - sorry don't want to spoil it for anyone. But the flawless CG and awesome fighting scenes make up for it.
The geek that I am, I can't promise I won't go see it again very soon :)
Oh, totally. I'd like to see it again to catch some of the stuff I missed, like all the decepticons. There really wasn't a good introduction to the whole decepticon team. I only found out now, after reading online, that there are infact eight.Quote:

Hm, I only noticed 7 cons - megatron (alien jet), starscream (raptor fighter jet), bonecrusher (construction truck), barricade (police car), devastator (tank), frenzy (boombox etc), scorponok (scorpion). So which one am I missing??
Edit: Forgot about the chopper. Nevermind :)
I saw that trailer pooon. Looked pretty bad ass what ever it was.
I have a movie buddy who can call out what trailer is about to be shown from the second they show the studios logo. I looked at him after that trailer and he was dumbstruck.
Here's the IMDB for it.
http://imdb.com/title/tt1060277/
Almost no information, expect for the fact that they haven't begun principal photography and its set to release in Janurary. They better get a move on.
^ I immediately thought 'Godzilla' when I saw it.

Me too.
But Godzilla has been done fairly recently.
its called cloverfield.
There is a ton of gorilla marketing happening for it right now.
Apparently something about aliens a war and gods
