So true. And it's not just that people block ads, just look at some of the most popular so called Web 2.0 sites, if they show ads, than in a very minimalistic and integrated way ... and it works! Not only do they get more happy users by being nice to them, many visitors actually click the ads as many published stats have shown, hey some go even as far as "doing something good for the website" by reading and clicking the ads. IMHO only being nice to the users works in the long run. That's why you see sites that have an option to switch of the ads for their members.Quote:

I know there are extensions that can remove any ad, but adblock can't, and they were complaining about adblock.
If the sites have payperclick, then the kind of people who install adblock wont be clicking the ad anyways, so it doesn't matter. If they have payperview, then get some better looking ads. An animated gif telling me I'm visitor number 1 million is not a good ad; its a trick to get people to click it. If they have textads and ads that are not placed in the middle of the article I'm reading, then fine. I never click the ad, because I never buy whats being advertised (I'd rather find what I want that be told what I need), and if I clicked it or looked at it just to "do something nice for the website", then aren't I just f***ing the company paying for the ad?
So to sum up, as long as I'm not buying whats being advertised then someone is losing money and I'm getting annoyed, but if I block the ad then someone is losing money and I'm happy. This means there is one more happy than before I blocked the ad.

Why is firefox blocked?
Because some douche wants to infect your computer with popups, search bars and endless ads, the same kind of douche that made you get Firefox in the first place because of horrific popups, search bars and endless ads.

That is classic.
Hate to slaughter your bubble subs, but that isn't the same site.
I know, but I was trying to not ruin the party. ;)

I still haven't found a site that block me, but if any of you do, heres how to fix it:
1) open a new tab and enter about:config
2) enter useragent.extra in the filter textbox
3) Rightclick the preference and click modify.
4) Make sure it does not contain the word Firefox (split it into two words or something)
Compare the URL's. This is a completely different site then the first.Quote:
