He didn't run as a democratic... he just caucuses with the them so he can do recon for the repubs.

I'm not sure. I would feel the same if it were the other way around, party-wise, personally. But, I don't recall what happened the other times.

If they felt disenfranchised, they should have. Lieberman always was fairly moderate. So, maybe that reflected his supporters as well and it wasn't as much of a leap for them. Not sure.
