If any one has cause for complaint about Elvis then its me, He did say some hurtfull remarks about my work early on in the peace(maybe they were true and one of the reasons I did not want to post again on this site) But I have had contact with him behind the scene of these forums, and He is just as normal as anybody else. and I hold no grudge, in fact I consider him somewhat of a friend..But I do find the 11 year old thing difficult to believe...he knows that...he has to face it himself...
You gotta admit he does add life to the forum....and he is a good flasher(better than me anyway) to me it makes no difference if he was trying to dupe us....Your cool with me Ivan..er Elvis...er ::im:: er..Daniel....:)but I think if its true you may be on shaky grounds with some of the moderators....

I must say that I have suspected this for some time, his IP did not track to Russia, but I still thought it was kinda fun...to have someone pretend they were 11 :) I forgive him.
screw that! It's one thing to let an 11 year old post remarks that hurt people and another when a 20 something christian is doing that. If this is true.. I think you should ban him from the board. Or at least make him post a community apology. If not, I think pope should. I do have to admit it is funny, but then again he didn't say anything bad to me.

Scills, your right but wrong because of his behavior and his continued egotistical and offending attitude toward others. Oh, he also might have lied about his age to do those things too.
I think both diavolo and fhobia have made good points. This is not an easy one, that's for sure. I'll wait to hear Elvis' side of the story.

I had a friend that I chatted with on IRC for close to 5 years. I never met him in person, but considered him a friend. Several months ago, he died in a car accident. I got an email from his brother's address informing me of the news, as well as several other friends we mutually knew.
I asked his friends to send me log files of fun conversations they had with him, any pics, etc... and then proceeded to make a memorial website for him. I cried the entire time I was building the site, it was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
Several weeks later, I found out that the whole thing was just a hoax, and that my "friend" had staged it all. Apparently he had used his brother's home computer without his brother's knowledge, and his brother found the death notice in his Sent box, at which point he contacted us to let us know that his brother had some mental illness issues, and was not in fact dead.
You can imagine how I, and the rest of our friends, felt. Betrayed would be an understatement.
If [elvis] is the christian he claims to be, he should make a public apology for deceiving us, seek professional help and start behaving like a reasonable person on these boards. I can forgive, but not forget.

i take it that elvis was your 'friend'... your right that is a pretty low trick. but it sounds like a fairly exceptional case considering the mental illness factor.

god, if that is all he has done, then i agree with flashguru... who really cares if someone lies about there age... we all use disguises, name aliases for example
Okay people, arn't we going a little over the top here? I know that Flashkit means a lot to the people who use it, but by it's very nature the internet will always have a degree of anamosity.
I don't think telling a few porkeys online is being a bad christian, but I do belive very stongly in the old saying treat others as you wish to be treated.

Look for those of you who do not know him, he was baned three seperate times from these boards. Thats how bad it was. Like I said, I dont want blood I just want a confession. His lack of answering this thread and the fact that the Prime Russian access time has come and gone for an 11 year old has come and went since this thread started kinda proves the point. one question i remember in the portfolio of his "site" he has this website he made in memory of a dead student from his class, if he made that up that is just sick. sick sick sick sick sick. shudder this guy is creeeeepy!
also, I always thought that he was born in russia but lives in america now....guess i was wrong. But i was pretty sure... anyways this makes up for me missing days of our lives for the past few days.

Pope, I like a good mystery as much as anyone. I think your allegations may not be fully substantiated. I been over ::im::'s and elvis' old posts, and he says he is of Russian nationality--his profiles have always shown that he resides in the US. I can't find a direct quote anywhere that he actually maintains moby.org, just that he is a fan. I'd like to prove he is older than 11, but I don't think the facts add up to a convictable level. Besides how many 22 year old Coloradan males take ballet. 11 year imigrants whose parents want them to succeed take ballet and go to the opera.

I've actually gotten a kick out of this character [elvis]. I for one believe he truly is an 11 year old who had access to the University of Indiana's computer lab (probably one of his parents is a student or employee). If he was perpetrating a hoax, he did a marvelous job and dedicated a lot of time to it. He showed up at another forum a few weeks ago and asked for opinions on his new nickname [elvis]. He was ridiculed a tad, and came back to Flashkit.
For those wondering where he is now, I think he said he got banned from the computer lab, and would not be on as much.
Remains to be seen. I don't think you've heard the last of him.

I think he's an eleven year old kid, whose mother enrolled him in summer school (Tanglewood? whatever). Remember his post that his time is really torn right now. Give him till the end of the day--bet he responds.
I had a friend who got hooked on MUDs a long time ago in college. He was on there all the time in the little computer lab in the dorms...how do I know? I was right there with him. :) Well, after a while, he started playing this female character. Now, female characters were few and far between because the majority of players were male...big revelation, I know... So, he started getting chatted up and given virtual gifts (roses and gold coins and such) and he even went so far as to "marry" (inside the MUD) one of the other players.
Then, the other player wanted to meet in RL. When he told him that he was really a guy, the player was crushed. Our whole IP was banned from the MUD and I had to plead to get my character set back up. As far as my friend goes, he just blew it off and started up again at another MUD. I don't understand it. In everything else, he was ok, a pretty normal guy, but in there, with anonymity behind him, he was a complete jerk.

I don't know. Just don't let the anonymity go to your head. There are real people behind the nicks and typed letters.

very very true kraken. this is the only forum on the internet that i have ever used that is closest to feeling like there are actual people acting like themselves behind the screens. i dont know why. i think it is probably because we are all very mature designers and just want to be a part of something as cool as this. now :im: on the other hand just wanted to get noticed by stirring things up and acting like a complete fool. he accomplished this by starting fights, cursing, and acting like he was from another country. he just wanted to be the center of attention.
There has been a confrimation that he is in fact in college. I will not say who the source is but, If they want to post they can. Like I said if you look at everything I posted as well as the IP address that was traced back to the US. (A long while ago, IM / Elvis / Dainial Claimed he was in Russia) you can look at the evidence and deduct this for yourself. I think he should answer the questions. Its been over 15 hrs since this was posted. He has had plenty of time to respond. The air has been let out of the tires. ;)

Pope, you may be retired but you will always be a copper. You have the perp in your scope and you won't let go. I went back to "im"'s first post, what he said--was he posted on a .ru board, not that he lived in Russia. I'll be the first to admit that I've found him to be an obnoxious little bugger from time to time. But I want hard fast evidence. If you read all his posts, either he is developmentally or psychologically delayed, or he is a kid trying to shine in a world of adults. Most of the design stuff he submits comes right out of text books, if you look at his sites closely most of that isn't new to world--it's vaguely cloaked imitation. His comment about stopping drinking--kids try to sound more grown up than they are just to impress their peers. I did when I was a kid, I am sure you did too.
