Hey Bertie! As a matter of fact we have something called kickstarter now. It is pretty "hella good", (I thought some 2000s slang would help make my reply more familiar to you). You should definitely check it out! Maybe they will fund your game.

What bert180 is asking actually sounds very interesting. I wonder if we can get him an answer before this decade is over......
If I create a folder on this forum would everyone like to contribute to building a battle bot program similar to what bert180 is asking about?
:)
Brad!
(I wonder if bert180 knows he has a world-wide following now! This thread has over 127,000 views)
I don't think the game will be done before flash becomes obsolete.
The number one song on August 6, 2000 was Sisqo - Incomplete. I knew he would last forever.
Never say die!:p

Just leaving a note of my existence in the sands of time.
This guy is obviously a time traveler, and he's on a busy schedule but still finding time to respond to his thread. I admire that.
By the way, this has been posted to reddit! Just leaving that here so people can joke about it in 5 years just in case reddit ends up like digg.
Hi bert180, your project sounds like it's going to be a very fun game after all these years put into making it. I look forward to the release!
R.I.P. Joseph, today has been a year since you've passed away and I have missed you dearly every day. Life seems to be flying by faster than I've anticipated. Hope to see you again, eventually.
Leaving my mark. See you in a couple of years, Bertie.
This thread will live on forever, or until Bertie finished his 13 year old game. I just hope he doesn't use flash 4 for it. LIVE ON THY BERTIE!
I'm dying of antici...
He's obviously a Timelord, he has both the time travel abilities and the lifespan to only post every 3-10 years.
I too would like to leave a mark on history!
Nadler
I could not resist.
I'm so sorry (more views -> more $$$ from the ads so it should not matter too much, right?).

Just leaving my mark on history.. Good luck with the game Bert!
D'oh! Meant to post but I've had the browser window open for 13 years!!
I'm going to show this to my kids in 10 years.
There is another ludum dare compo in a week. Just saying.
I would totally play that.
You guys are sure having fun with Bertie. I hope he gets the answer that he's looking for. He's the one asking for help. I wish I could help but I don't know anything about the robot game that he's creating.

I'd love to help, but I am really busy atm. But as soon as I have this stuff done, I will be happy to contribute. Look what I did recently, it's basically bots fighting each other, might be a good start. So, yeah, I'll be done with my stuff really quick, and then back to you guys in like 2018, or maybe even 17, and we'll do it.Quote:

Great. Bertie should get ideas from your game but I think he's no longer updating his thread.
Really busy now, looks like 2017 is out of question
Hey, sorry for spamming the thread so often, but before anyone has a chance to read my post, I'd like to clarify that I was not serious.
P.S. Ludumdare is one day away.
Definitely not serious. Not only I am not busy, I simply do not have anything better to do than to bump this thread every couple of days.... Is it not sad
Hi there in the next 3 years!
The best way to make the robot move is to use transparent button or movie clip, which increase or decrease the robot's X and Y position. Collisions are easily made with hitTest command :)
Here is a game with moving robot, until we wait next 3 years :D
Play
how many years before someone in this thread actually makes the robot game?
I hope you mean 2-3 :( Here is something to get ya'all started.
sorry but openai.com did not exist back then so I really could not post the link earlier
I want some of this action. This is hilarious. This thread is older than your join date realMakc.
you do that, and then all the people do here would be trying to outwit each other.
Appreciate the support, I enjoy 182 too. I've managed to make some good progress on the robot fighting and anouther opening credits, but struggling with the correct stage size for a game export. I began in 800 x 600, but a quick MSN internet search suggests this is rapidly becoming obsolete, which is annoying. Will try to demo a .swf when i get thru this next bit soon. We'll get there, always will be the optimist.
Wow, you're still here bert180? I figured that your account was a grab bag account with the low number of posts you've made. Your return is most fortuitous! After counting, you've only posted twice outside of this topic.
I'm so hoping you are not making this up!Quote:

Hey @bert180 I don't mean to be asking every 5 minutes but, is your demo swf up yet somewhere?
Robot game? Where? I wanna play!! ;)
