Bah. I could have sworn the rant started with Canada and UK. I'd still love a Canadian forum!Quote:

I think they may wanna start off with a USA, UK, and Aussie boards, and then goto other places, so they can test for effectiveness.

Doesn't look like there's been anything happen, or any new of any moderators recently. Come on guys get your act together, I'm sure you can see we have a fair bit of support
well im pulling my weight
Good on you, I can't see why nothing's been done. I wouldn't think it's exactly much work, and people are wiling to act as moderators. At least keeping the message active will keep adding the views and keep it near the top. If we keep pestering long enough, smoething has to happen eventually.....
Excellent, this thread has had such a good response.
Loads of support for a UK forum, which is great for me, but It'd be cool to see more support for other forums. I also think flashkit would like to see good support for more than one forum. There'd have to be a need for a UK, a US and an Aussie forum at least.
One other possible idea, and I don't know how easy this would be, but what about having a single forum for regional issues, and have a mandatory message icon, selectable from all the flags of the world, or whatever. So every post has a clear indication of the region it applies to. One could also decide to choose between a UK post or a European post, for example.
Just a thought. Thanks all for your support.
yup, sign me up for the UK forum pleeeeeeaaaassee :-)

Although I am all for regional forums (UK, please), could you start by fixing the bugs on this site. By bugs I mean media. I know I am not the only one who has noticed this - close to twenty threads all saying the same thing.
[echo]Is anybody there?[/echo]
Pete
I reckon this is a top idea !
Rock on Flash Kit Australia Forum.
Is that plug??????????? How many mods will they be having?Quote:

As long as the thread still keeps building interest, and we have more people give their support, the better.
lol no not really, im easy whoever the moderators will be (as long as they come from the relevant forums country :D)Quote:

Now to put the hen amongst the chickens.....
What really is the difference between an Aussie forum and lets say a UK forum ? OK, geographically theres a huge difference, and they down a few more beers in "down under" but apart from that i mean ?
What i´´m after is what these forums would be about. That must be of more interest than just creating a forum because you are from a different continent.
No offence intended here, but as yet, no-one had suggest what the reasoning is behind the idea.....
I suppose it's a sort of pride thing. As in maybe some countries think they are smarter then others? So they think it would be better to talk to people like them? whatever that's probably wrong...actually I think it's a cultural thing. European culture is different from American culture in a few ways I think....Quote:

In which case i would agree with both snoop_doug and Gandalf_The_White. Also that the Moderator has at least some connection with the country involved.
For my own, it would be great to have a forum for countries that have totally different languages. One of the most exasperating things i come across is trying to translate the tutorials and action-scripting to my own version of Flash (Swedish). Even though i´m a Britt, i still have a Swedish version of Flash. But as yet, there is no FlashKit type boards represented here anywhere.
So far though, the Coffee Lounge dosnt seem to work properly. No reflection on the Moderators. They do a great job considering the amount of members that post. I´m sure we dont act like that in real company..... or do we ?
A personal question to Gandalf.....are you a fan of "Lord of The Rings" ?Quote:

Regional discussion could include:
Current jobs market/work climate,
Events such as flashforward and flashkit fall,
Looking for people close to home to work with on projects,
Advertising gigs/jobs etc..
Looking for advice on other services eg. web hosting
Critique of cool UK/US/other Flash sites
Oh and of course,
General regional banter - politics/tv/weather/favourite type of mollusc etc.
To name but a few.

That's another thing I didn't think of - conversation in languages other than english, something you don't see on these boards. If it wasn't my first language, I'd be much more inclined to get involved in discussion with others of the same tongue.
t'would be a multi-functioning forum :)Quote:

Now we´re getting somewhere.....
Some really great ideas. Now the second question. Is this board capable of hosting these forums ? Or to re-phrase, would they be willing to ?
You who are longstanding members would probably know the answer to that.
To Gandalf....I havnt read that, just the 4 first books "The Hobbit, The Fellowship, The 2 Towers and The Return...". Its taken me approx 10 years to read twice :)

I read earlier that 20 or so supporters would be enough, (for each forum i guess).
Even if Sweden dos´nt get a forum of its own, i would support any of the other suggestions. Being a Britt myself, relatives in Canada, USA, Australia (forefathers), Germany, Scotland....whew !!
What would be the next step to make this a serious suggestion ? I think we´ve proven a point here allready.
i guess it would be getting this thread shown to someone who can make these things happen, whoevers chiefly in charge of all the forumsQuote:

anymore takers?
<backhander>Come on guys give us a board</backhander>
I'll even throw in a dog as part of the bargain.
Most sensible route for the site to expand i would say.Flash Kit is so popular now that regional forums are not just a good idea but essential
let's build a picket line on the index page, that way anyone passing the line we can call a "scab" :D:D:D:D
*REGIONAL FORUMS 4 ALL*
****WE WANT JUSTICE****
Bring out the thermos, sandwiches and sleeping bag. It´s gonna be a long night :)
I'll go and get an empty oil so we can get a fire. All together now:-
"Hell no, we won't go,
hell no, we won't go,
we won't even go when our legs go numb,
just give us our forum"
"Hell no, we won't go,
hell no, we won't go,
we won't even go when our legs go numb,
just give us our forum"

Oh yes and we want fun
We all want our Forum
And it´s 5, 6, 7 open up the FK gates
The preasures on to here these songs
Whoopee... "Regional Forums"....
Thee Hobbit, The Samarillion (or something to that effect :D), and the last LOTR book were the best. The Fellowship was soooo slow, no action. It took me 5 years to read that one alone hehe.Quote:

PS: I still want that Canadian Forum!
Hunt the Wumpus!
Somar
well weve reached 4 pages now and the supports still coming in (all be it very slowly :D)
Its usually at this point a Moderator comes in and says, "ok, this has gone on far enough...".
Hopefully they will read the post and GET THE IDEA !!...pretty please....
Gollum Gollum Gollum.....my precious :)
no moderators will be closing this down anytime soon, its kept to the topic and is for a worthy cause
don't worry, someone will pay attention and get their ass into gear around here eventually. Although by then we'll have probably reached 10 pages....
