Business and religion don't mix. A persons morals, values and the way they act should speak for themselves. The fact is that people that are oh so religious, is more likely to end up screwing you in business than anyone else, because you let your guard down because of their religion.
I don't care if the client is christian, muslim, or sacrifises goats at full moon with a feather up their butts, as long as they treat me with respect, they will be treated with respect.
ethics have nothing to do with religion and vice versa. Just look at the horrific things the church has sanctioned, ignored or accpeted over the years:
the crusades
the inquisition
salem witch trials
the Nazi regime
Christians and the practice of crucifixion are too inextricably interrelated for my liking. Best stick to the five precepts.

All of your examples have nothing to do with personal standards, these were all conducted by religous leaders gone bad.

Priests by definition are priests. They don't do much else but be priests...you ain't likely to partner with them on a business deal. :p
Swampy, if you're trying to prove they're are hypocrites say so. Sure there are plenty who don't practice what they preach.
I wouldn't partner with someone just because they talked the talk. I'd have to be sure their life was consistent.

If my business partner was a christian, I would have absolutely no problem with that.
If my business partner wasn't a christian I'd have absolutely no problem with that.
If my business partner failed to do any work, never turned up and decided to run away with the contents of the bank account, I'd have a problem with that.
As far as I'm concerned it has absolutely nothing to do with how well they do their work. What you seem to be saying from my point of view Clif, is that people who aren't Christian can't be trusted, so you wouldn't work with them. I find that quite offensive.

nope I'm merely saying that you shoulkdn't judge a book by it's covber, or by it's religion.

Case example:
My boss..a Christian..is partnered with a respectable doctor here in town.
They've had a few unpleasant momemts over business practices already. The outlook just is so much different.
Like it or not, people's religous views do influence their whole standard.
And in a business deal...no matter what religion your talking..it would be good if both had similar viewpoints...would it not?

I once worked for a christian dominated business. It was a defence contracter odly enough.

i have no problems with working with a practicing religious person as long as their views dont affect me... such as, i wouldnt work with people that always preached to read the bible, or a bnp fella who always talked about how many asians he has beaten up in london last friday.
im a freelance designer, currently working for a company that is run by a practicing hindu geeza.
he is a top bloke and we get along fine. we talk about religion, politics etc etc and we both have different views, but we dont force them on each other. so far we have got along fine, and we are now looking at a few business ventures together.
i dont see a problem with it at all.
just keep me away from the priests :eek: ive heard what they get up to behind closed doors! ;) lol

I agree that if the person I'm doing business with is Christian/Not Christian, I don't have a problem with it... but if they openly advertise or say so during a meeting or something like that... then I don't really wanna do business with them, your beliefs are your beliefs, when you bring them into the business world, it interferes with business.

I would not do business with you if you had a jesus fish thing on your front door, jesus posters in your office, crosses in your hallways, a jesus saves sticker on your company car, etc. etc.
