ITS BACK!!!
liar!
It's up and down like a yo-yo. Saw the intro then got stuck whilst loading. Seems to be down again...
i saw most of it, very nice looking 3d, basically a type of site like whoswe... lots of "wow" because of all the 3d.
Greetings!
The intro should be embeded in Flash Mx, and streamed.
Preload 30-40 percent for dial-up/lowend users. Let it stream
for broadband users!
This will lower the loading time.

WOW! That just stunned the sh1t outta me. I'm impressed the way he layed out his intro. There are a lotta bugs with the menu system there. Nonetheless the 3d smudges were just AMAZING. Loved this one over whoewe too.

nice, im loving this. This is the future of the web (well for a while) but... I hope he changes that looping piano thingy, done my nut after 2 mins!
wow!
What a site, all one guy as well.
My comp couldnt handle the fps, and the loading times were ridiculous, not to mention the intro didnt even work once it was loaded for me.
Never seen V.1 but V.2 is not a wow for me as far as flash but the 3D is hot! I'll have to see it as 100% done.
its..

"Cool FLASH Sites
Found a cool site? Share it here for viewing and discussion."
people seem to forget.
im disappointed. what he created was a promotional tool that should be used for dvd-rom presentation to clients and potential clients. that is not a website. what he did was good work, it's just not meant to be a website.
Do any of you who are criticizing his site have any idea the amount of time and detail it must have taken to create such a site??? I don't think so. Also, can most people create something at this level, I don't think so.
Yes most of the content is not specifically Flash, but the site is truly amazing. The detail is great, and Billy is a true talent. This is very possibly the direction the web (multimedia) could and may go in. This takes things in a new direction, and opens a few doors (or at least opens those doors a little wider). It isn't often one site has such an impact, and I haven't seen a site at this level in a pretty long time.
I say, keep up the good work Billy. I don't love everything on the site, but I know he has more talent than most people here, so we should all appreciate that. I'm sure things will improve over the next few weeks. It will only get better.
Managed to see the site now and I'm blown away. Awesome work!!!
It seems that this forum is getting harsher by the day. People have a right to their opinion though. People seem to find it easier to complain and criticize than to compliment. ;)
Really Kick Ass Work. A true talent.
However, first, how narcissistic is Billy. I mean he uses his own image as the major graphical element (even in the preloader). I actually like a lot of this usage but after seeing the intro I mean come on.
Secondly, the 3D work is fantastic but I have always had issues with popular 3D subjects. I mean what is that silvery mechanical thing anyway? Maybe I just don't understand.
Keep up the good work though.:)
there are 6 billion people on earth.
1 in ever 17,000 people are flash-kitters and there are only about 5 or 6 people in this forum as talented as that guy.
basicly what im saying is he's one of the most talented people on the face of the planet.
ok. maybe i get a little carried away but that 3d was amazing. i tried 3d studio,......................... i made a real nice cube.
great work. thats where i wanna be in a couple years.
p.s. was it just me or did the music make u feel really sorry for him. or maybe that was the fact that he was wearing an atari t-shirt
i think everyone who has seen this site certainly has an idea of the ENORMOUS time, effort and skill that goes into making some wicked 3d animations and after effects editing like this. And I'm not criticizing any of his video/3d skills, cuz i know I couldn't do that.
but some of the previous criticisms here are not unfounded. Bascially the site is a bunch of movies, with flash being used to sew them all together. as said before I think this would be a lot better done as a dvd/promotional video. the actual "flash" content consists of a couple buttons, and some text boxes.
for me its a killer demo of 3d skills. in truth, i find this stuff tons more impressive than whoswe or fantasy interfaces 3d. his sense of motion, editing and camera angles are bang on. but i don't really get to see any of his web/flash skills. which for me, makes this less of a cool website. its more of a cool video showcase. I don't think it's harsh to say this sort of thing. I'm simply appreciating it for what it is, not for what it isn't.
that 3d models and animations and effects are AWESOME, i mean AWESOME! this guy rocks!!!!! great work!!!
but no for a website, is too heavy to enjoy
*moved to 3D forum* :D
the more i look at it, the more i wish that there was more content, and interactivity... of course, the 3d is amazing, but after a few visits to the site it just feels really empty.
of course, this is an early version and the content still has to be added... but hopefully that will make the site worth it to go back to more then once.
Look, I dont want anyone to take what I said the wrong way. The work is very well done, it's just not meant to build a website around. If he were going to have a section of the site that showcased his 3d talents that's definitely something that he should include. But when thinking through projects that are meant to be viewed online, you must think about the people viewing your site, and the potential clients that are viewing your site. Like I said before, this work is very well done but it's probably better off being on a dvd-rom/promo kit than a website.

The 3d work is awsome!
I love the intro is great(I dont usually like intros)
But why do I have to click, wait for loading, then click again when loaded?
You just dont do that!
Seems Billy needs to learn a little usability.
If BB wants to sell himself as a 3D master then this is the right way to do it. Everyone who has seen this version knows his skills in this area because it's right in your face. If it was just a section of his site or on a promo disc his potential clients might not even notice or see it.Quote:

Who's We did exactly the same thing and now they are pulling in big clients.
I think this site has huge potential for him and we have yet to see the final version.
Its pretty good, will it be smoother when the final release is out? or is it my comp.
Edit: The Intro loaded eventually and im gonna have sex with the end part where he does all that minority report shiznit.
agreed. nice 3d. but what's the point of making a site hardly anyone will be able to see? slow and takes forever to load.... and i'm on a T1 line with a Mac G4 here at work...
wow ... great website ...
argh... 3D 3D 3D... only 3D stuff...
and it takes ages to load...
conclusion
the time you waste to load the entire site, it does not worth it.
how did he get the rights to the intro song by Voodoo and Serrano - Blood Is Pumping? anyway there is a ton to like here, great 3d work, nice sound effects, a fun upbeat in your face site, did I mention great 3d work!..
glenn
Agreed... the 3d is neat, but not everyone has 5 gigs of processor power to view this thing. I thought my p4 2.4 and 1 gig of memory would be able to handle it, but I've been wrong before....
Wow! That just raised the bar.
I had no probs viewing it, must of fixed it.
what and odd post... why can't a website be promotional? he just showed it could be...Quote:

man that intro gave me some chills, mostly the end when hes moving those things around with his finger, great stuff!, and the voice in teh beginning was so nice n clear like in the movie previews. lol
does anyone know if he made all the 3d video/after effects himself, or he knew people to hook him up with the good stuff.
i totally agree with you bomb. the site is just for that....promoting his skills. its to be seen, felt and experienced. hes not trying to win people over with content...honeslty i wouldnt care if there was any content at all. its just a fun site.....a visual experience, and i think he did a great job.Quote:

great work, nice attention to detail yet your home button shifts when navigating..doh! hook it!
If he got other people to do it for him then it wouldn't be his portfolio.Quote:

My review on this site!
Well, I think it's amazing. Awesome 3D work, great transitions I just love the site. I'll be posting it as a "Featured Site" on noiz22.com for sure. Thumbs up for Billy.
Cheers
i dont think i even need to say how much i liked this site.
but anyway
u know the console on the intro, the minority report thingy. how the hell. please enlighten me. i get the digital video of him sitting at a desk but the other effects where amazing.
kinda halo'ish if any of u guys know what i mean
p.s. the site rocks, must have one hell of a server. lets have a competition. who can guess the number of visitors in the first 24 hours. billy can come and verify it for us.
i would say 7,500 ( maybe a little high, but the whole of flashkit knows about it so why not)
I'm not a fan of this kind of stuff normally and for my taste the whole thing is a bit overblown, over-hyped, but there's no denying it's well done.
What I wanted to see was more of the kind of stuff he does at the end of the intro, where he's sitting at the desk, that was ten times cooler than zooming down a 3d 'tunnel' full of abstract shapes - I never get that kind of stuff.
dude, something must be really wrong with your computer...running a 1.5 with 512mb here and it ran perfectly smooth.Quote:

As for the "slowness"...that's more due to the fact of the huge number of users and less on the size. It is pretty big (how big? I'm not sure) but it's a reasonable download. It was not slower/faster than any other pouplar 3d intro sites.
edit: by "slowness" i'm refering to the loading times
i just watched it on my 850 laptop and it ran smooth as butter, not sure why it doesn't like your p4 2.4 with 1 gig of memory!
Surprisingly it ran smooth on my G4 400 with the not as fast flash player. Nice transitions, I just wish he put more rollover cues, like the glass with text, maybe highlight the text with a glow or something. All that great work and minimal interactivity.
