Its rumored to be around $479us. The xbox pro unit as we know it now will become the core unit... probably lowering the price to $399.
I am not sure if I can swing $500 for a system. I guess this summer I will put a few more hours in at work and get one. I have heard rumors of it looking like crap on a SDTV? I have a 32" lcd tv I can hook it to at home for the summer but once I got back to school in the fall I will be back to a "normal" tv....how does it look?

I play mine on hd which looks reliably great. When I was visiting my brother I tried it on sd and played gears, ridge racer, and fight night. They all looked fine. It looks even better if you don't have hd to compare it to. The only problem I've heard anyone have is small text in dead rising is difficult to read.
If you can't put out $500 now, do best buy financing like I did. I bought a 32" tv, 360, games and accessories and put it on a 3 year plan of about $50 bucks a month.
I am almost out of debt(other then school :)) I don't think I want to go back in debt for a gaming console and tv :)

You could always just buy a PS3...and when you're done playing GTA IV, you'll have a nice $600 Blu-Ray player...and no games worth playing.
That special edition package would go nicely with the new Elite system.
I always enjoy the PC version more anyway. I'll just wait.

Don't buy Test Drive Unlimited. It wears thin very quickly.

New trailer is out. Anyone else notice the lower frame rate than previous trailers? Also the visuals don't seem as impressive as before... or maybe this is because of all the great games that has come out since then.
I liked the trailer but it didn't look as smooth as I hoped.
I must be seeing something different. The new trailer actually got my attention whereas the old(er) trailers didn't.
It's GTA. They're not really known for insane graphics.
I think they should get a new team to work on the characters. I'm guessing they know what they are doing but imo the character style and movement(not to fluid) don't seem to have evolved too much since GTA 3.

I might be having to blow some cash come summer on this damn game now. I will be picking up the cheapest console with a HDMI port(used or new) and GTA IV as soon as summer is out. I just won a scholarship last week and when I get the check it might be spent already :).
Been watching a few movies over at gametrailers.com and I didn't realize how insane this game is going to be. I know it is GTA and it will be a good time to play but the mini games and all the little details they added are insane! They have added a lot of stuff I am sure will piss people off- some say it was just smaller looking hookers but I have seen screen shots of kids.(which makes sense, I mean yes killing children is awful etc etc but what real city doesn't have kids?) I also just saw a video on how you can go drunk driving.
They have pool, darts, and bowling from what I saw as well.
Many late nights will be blown on this I am sure. Xbox live can be bought in 3 month packages correct? I am only keeping the system this summer and going to sell it off before heading to London for some quick cash.
I can't wait to get it. I preordered it and apparently it will be at Blockbuster at midnight tonight, they are staying open until 2am. I hope they actually have my pre-order. I hope Rockstar ships enough and doesn't decide to create more demand by limiting the supply.
