morpheus didnt look right without the other tones ill ahve another mess around when i can be bothered eg when it really starts to annoy me. anyway as i said heres a neo http://www.cdp-design.com/images/Neo_Smith.jpg
thats cool, i like the way the background is moving! needs a little touching up, but hey, what doesnt!!
nice work
ok i promise this final one for today http://www.cdp-design.com/images/neo.jpg
i think im getting good with me tablet now :D thx for your feedback Flashlor yeah i think having the background blured makes it emphasise on the character better also in that pic above it puts more action into it.

Those are well cool CDP!
Though a little constructive cricism, the faces on the one of neo fighting the agent smiths (my fav) don't look quite the right colour, especially around neo's shades. :)
P.S, are you actually allowed to put a copyright notice on the bottom?
I see wot ya mena about the neo it a bit pale round the shades i just been churnin them out yestarday as i ahd nothing better to do.
i dunno i just slabbed copyright on em so people cant put em on their site when they go up on me portfolio reference will be made to the matrix. Does anyone know anywhere i cna talk to ppl about copyright cos i hear before that it should be ok if the work is for personal use and not commercial but he wasnt sure.
hey guys!
lol haven't been in here for a while, seems that trenchcoats and the matrix have taken over. hehe.
CDP, I'd say you've really gotten your tablet figured out! nice work! how long does it take to make those?
and I'm pretty sure that whatever you make that's original can have a copyright on it, after all, it is your own work and no one else's.
discs79, cool textures. seem to be a bit too repetitive, is it? maybe put a bit of shading in there, it'll look better, but it's cool.
CNO, cool monopoly dude!
as for me right now, we had to do an art final, and for one of the pics I did something very similar to the attachment. it's a new style of shading I'm working with, opinions and cc greatly appreciated!!!
Nice one lads its all looking very cool.
Thanx for the mention e-Tahn, nice to see my work singled out amongst a lot of quality work..
I see what you mean about the shading, it’s a real pain coz I can’t find the working files for that pic so I’m gonna have to do it again.
The_e-Tahn thats some nice work and thanks for clearing up the copyright i thought i should be able to as the matrix is only a reference. Ah well that will be the basis of me case if i get warner bros on me back :p
thanks!
Yeah, I sent in like 64 copyrights in a bundle called Tahnee's Happy Dogs a couple of years a go to the copyright office; later on my mom was talking with some1 over the internet and they said something about everything that's by you is copyrighted or something, just not through the whole legal wait-for-it-to-be-confirmed-for-a-year thing, but it still is, I think....
discs, sorry that you can't find the original of the file! I'd say maybe you could go over in another layer, airbrushing with an opacity of like 50... the dark and light spots... that or use filter>render>lighting effects (I think that's what it is, looks like you used photohshop). good luck! Or you can try to make a whole new thing, usually when you do that you come up with more ideas and then they turn out better than the original. :D
Basically you own the copyright as soon as you create something, but it helps to have a way to prove it (mailing the originals to yourself will put a federal dated postmark on them, which will generally hold up in court).Quote:

Filing for a proper copyright allows you to file for monetary damages if someone infringes on your copyright.
Of course, since you're creating a derivative work from originals here, you probably shouldn't include a copyright, but it most likely won't cause problems unless you are selling the work. I think you would be better off putting a more generic "created by" statement on the images.
yeah, I think CNO hit it right on the nose. :)
FINALLY!! It is FINISHED!! lol remember Spencer that I uploaded some time ago, not too long though? funny thing is, the original sketch took a day and that photoshopped version took a day too (even though I was up till 2.) this one, Resee, took 4 days to sketch and color originally, and took a much longer time in Photoshop, but I just finished it! YAAAY! please CC! I think I'm really getting a good feel for photoshop with the wacom!

wow! I love them...maybe you could get into character design for 3D games? That pays big bucks, and im sure you'll be doing what you love. If you ever make a frontal and a profile of your character, I wouldnt mind modeling it, either :D
thanks fospher! I appreciate the comment. As a matter of fact I actually got my first gig as a game artist about 3 months ago. ( No big bucks :P ) Im always up for some collabs just let me know. Im in the midst of learnin max and maya and cant model worth crap so it would be nice to see one of my chars modelled. Maybe Ill work on one soon for you to model.
Peece,
Mel

Thanks mel! Yeah if you have a spare minute I wouldnt mind some character sketches. I get tired of flash sometimes, and modeling just takes my mind off of it. Rock on, man :p
