Very Sweet! Looks like it was a fun class.
great stuff nayades, proportions look excellent!
what medium u using in the majority of those pics? coal?
yup coal.
it took m some time to "master" it. at the beginning i thought it was complete crap. a medium that didn't let me work properly. but it is the same as photoshop and flash; at the beginning there are so many things and options that overwhelm you, you don't know how to start. and it is not after endless tries you actually get control of the technique.
:)
Heres my pics: (links)

This is "concept art" for a short comic I'm currently 'working' on.
(This and the animation thread seem to be getting quieter and quieter.)
I've been wanting to post more work but now I'm at uni i've found I've had much less time, especially for animation. I've done some as part of my course but the file is far too large to upload to the internet.Quote:

Nice image though, hopefully once I get used to the new flash I'll do some more images for this thread. I havent updated my site in about a month so I gotta do that aswell soon.
I like the devils eyes, really nice effect.:)
Deathquakis, nice start, little work on proportions (legs and boobs are a bit off) and some owrk on the hands thats all. Would be nice to see shading aswell but it look cool without, keep it up :)
Pretty cool art there, fiddlestick5 . I especially like the light effect and all.
I got bored and started tinkering with some of my images and through continued boredom gave birth to this.

For some reason I'm reminded of japanese yellow page ads.
edit: I just noticed this, but the top of the large star on the left sections off part of the mushroom into a tiny annoying spec of bright yellow and it's pissing me off... I'll probably fix it tomorrow.
nice picture fiddlestick5 i like it a lot :)
pure crazyness fiddlesticks... awesome :)
thanks
One of the things I like about flash is that you can go back and reuse whatever you want with relative ease... which I've been doing alot lately.

hey fiddlesticks5 great stuff out of interest how much of this type of work do you plan with pencil sketches?
Thanks,
In this case I did do it for the building. But my stuff just isn't that complex, so I rarely have to resort to that.
thats great work fiddle :)
a proper use of gradients ... cool
Awesome work fiddlesticks... I love pictures of craziness!
youve been busy fiddle. Geat stuff! Love the last one especially.

Nice work Mel! I like his big rock hand with the swirly patterns.
Fiddle dude your work rocks! I love the leaping gun man pose, and the contrast between the yellow and the grey on the last one :)
I might go and scan in some of my sketches soon so I can actually post something. You guys are makig me feel lazy :D
I found some pictures of my finished A-level sculture for a unit I did on trees:
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/DSCF0056.JPG
http://aim2win.bizland.com/okideas/DSCF0057.JPG
(Its big so beware 56k'ers)
The actual sculpture is about 100cm high and about 50cms wide. The background is cardboad with paper maché (sp?) to give it texture. The tree man is wire wapped in paper maché and bent into posistion, with yellow glass pebbles for eyes. And it's all painted in acrylic. Oh and the ground is actual dirt - stuck down and painted.
Took me weeks but got me top marks :)
That's tight! I love the texture and detail and all that jazz.
I tossed this together- as an image it's basically a failiure, but I'm going to try and animate it and I anticipate it will look nuts (i'll try and make it a loop ani)

meh, another b-grade image... something about it appeals to me though.

thats some crazy sculpture Olly! looks good, though i think the back purple bit might need some variation in colour... like darker at the botto or something? :)
forgot to say. the white one is the model. the clay one is mine. :)
nayades that looks Great !!
whos is that anyway? reminds me of ex ny mayor Giuliani :D
gongora. a spanish poet/writer from the xvii century.
got a 9 out of 10 for this one: the only major error: his right eye ( the left one looking at the front image) is a bit too displaced to the right ( left from our point of view). it actually was displaced, but i did it a bit too much. moving it around half a cm to the nose would have fixed it. in fact the nose should also be a little sharper.
anyway. 4 weeks for this, 6 hours a week, = 24 hours of work. :)
I've got something, I just hope I can finish it in time.Quote:

finished him this morning. meow! It's all pen and ink. Dunno how long it took, I'm guessing about 5-6 hours or something, cuz time flies when inking.
nice cat The_e-Tahn :)
but i think the eyes are too far apart
hey thanks Magnetos,
I'm looking at it now, maybe they are just a tad bit too far apart... A few things went whacky when I made it, but then it turned out. :)

I've not really done a lot of drawing yet except on this site that I found a couple of days ago, here's my profile on it:

Looking good, melmann-- I'm currently attempting to learn maya at the moment... it's quite a bit more difficult then I thought it would be...

Other than a few scrap works, this is all I've really put together in the last few days... I like it.
Heh, I just found this board. I figure I'll dig up some old stuff for people to take a look at. Don't want to clog up the board, so I'll post one pic and link the rest.

My sketching style is really rough, so I don't think I'd get into professional drawing without help. I'd really like to see if some of you guys can do some colorization work on these. Finally, a self-portrait:
