You showcased more 3D skills than Photoshop skills in the Design|Marathon than anything else.
Don't forget, I was a judge in that.
About time you show some skills in the Arena anyway :p
I think using a web app would be a good idea just for the fact that if we hosted the images like we have done previously, in a HTML page, it would be a pain in the ars for someone to keep watching the thread and then put up the next image when someone finished. This way, when someone is done, it would just appear in the HTML page.... is the the idea?
And also, RollCanvas: infinity sounds cool as hell.
I already did. Hmm ... so that was the reason I did'nt win. :DQuote:

About the web app, do you want to host it like that other canvas or would a new domain especialy for it be a better idea?
I already have some really nice ideas. Will make a sample page tomorrow.

Oh mann!! This is ridiculous.. i was going to surprise you all:) I had already started working on a php-class to take the last 150pixels of an image uploaded to save as another file for this same purpose! I picked up a domain and wanted to take rollcanvas onto the net. I got the idea when I posted last... just came to me. Ah well.. oh well.
Great job everyone, very impressed.
Don't stop developing.Quote:

I more or less "just" have to recombine scripts I already did, so I will not ask you if you want to develop this with me as it would just slow me down, but maybe we can share ideas after I have my first version finished. :)
Here's a first layout of the tool: http://www.not-a-blog.com/rollcanvas...sapplayout.jpg
There will be more options, but for a first preview it should be enoough. :D

I think this all sounds great.Quote:

I suggested the method of doing it earlier on in the thread, during the time I was frustrated with people not putting up their volleys...
Basically its the same style as before, only insted of waiting til the end before we see the whole thing, we just leave one invisible image between the last image done and the next person doing an image, so people still wont know what the transition is... for example:
round1. Someone makes first image, posts last 150px...
round2. Someone makes second image, posts last 150px... previous image is fully revealed.
round3. Someone makes third image, posts last 150px... previous image is fully revealed.
round4. Someone makes forth image, posts last 150px... previous image is fully revealed.
round5. Etc...
And it doesnt have to need a host, and it can go on forever.
One rule that people may find hard to keep using, is make sure you call that you are next in line, before actually starting, otherwise two people may put up volleys at the same time... which could cause some conflicts...
And because of that rule, the waiting-a-week-for-someone-to-post will never happen, because if people call for a shot whenever they want to do it, the max wait time will be only an hour or so (depending on how long a volley takes to make... could be a half day... i dont know...)
thoughts?
However I might make the rounds just a simple number of volleys. I'd say 10 would be good. After the 11th volley you reveal the first 10, after the 21st the next 10 and so on. This way anyone can participate at any time, much like the Kung Fu Fighting battle.
damn subway, that looks hawt!
I cant wait to see it working... it already looks outta' control... :D
clicky, the reason I think revealing one by one is the way to go, is because that way we dont need a central person controlling all the volleys. however, if subway makes this thing, then i dont believe we will have to worry about it...
...and you asked why I called subway in here.....sheez
awsome work so far mang!!
I'm an idiot. I took it as round 1 meaning go through everyone once then reveal it on their next post.Quote:

I agree, just keep it a mystery until after the next person passes on their 150 pixel image.
Hehe, thx. :)Quote:

Guess you have to wait a little longer. I hardly have any time right now because of a big client project, just check my extremly low CL postcount of the last few weeks. ;)
Anyway, will let you know when I'm ready with the first version. :)

No prob Subs.....take your time mang.
