I dont know about caressing it, I usually kick first and ask questions later (IT techi's worst nightmare)
I started drawing is body, he's got that big sword thing lobbed over a shoulder and a pistol in the other hand pointed at the viewer, ... you can vaugly see its outline.
Not too amped to colour him though, those lines would give me bad dreams and negative vibes :p

I just got a Wacom tablet (finally). Now i'm trying to do more drawing. I did a lot when I was younger, but it lost priority somewhere along the way.
Anyway, once I got the hang of the tablet, I made my first set of sketches. Dang, that tablet is fun to use!

Nice depth, nice prespective.
She looks a bit like she's floating on top of the fish, maybe give her more of a shadow.
Also, incomparison the fish are quite detailed. I realise you're still working on it, but it would be nice to see her in more detail. She's quite dark.
Post the finished thing for us to oogle.

proportion seems ok ,umm maybe his shoulder ? perhaps you should draw the entire figure , its a good habit to lightly sketch your art before you actually start it this way you can make sure it fits inside the paper page i know because i do that too sometimes :)

Mag, your fish is awesome-- looks like it's made with a freaking 3D program! haha!! I like its form of transportation-- beautiful colors, too!

As for the skull... It was on a white piece of scratchboard, which I painted black with ink, then scratched through, tinted here adn there, painted some more, used inks, scratched, etc etc etc. I scratched down to the cardboard on some parts :yikes: but yeeeah... glad you guys like it :D

Mag, your textures keep getting better and better! I only have one major problem with your sea creature/fairy/water picture: thje rock on the right in the background is too flat looking! Maybe add some major shading at the bottom and that'll help bring it out more. :D
