Its really a shame that all the great things that Clinton aaccomplished, the last 8 years of unfettered peace an prosperity go down the drain because of something that is nobodys business but his family's.

Clinton excelled at his job, which includes being a good public speaker and provided hope and prosperity for many who otherwise would not seek it out. He gave this country confidence and security with his strong and dignified role as a world leader,and was and still is respected around the world.

Yes - he had affairs, so did MLK, jr, so did Ghandi would anyone care to refute their importance in our modern society-would you not want them to be a role model for your children?

I think Bush is finally making an effort now to do his job-though I think it would have been better had he been qualified before taking office-I respect the fact that he is at least trying, which is more than you can say for pre-911 when he spent more time at the Ranch/private residence than at the White House and seemed omni present at every single sporting event.

I don't think its fair to speculate as to what condition we would be in with Gore as president-he was a quiet, intelligent VP, some say boring-but he seemed to have a quiet confidence that would have translated into a good leader, world -wide. I think he would have been well respected - but we'll probably never know

Clinton took up for people that no other politician ever has-such as his first goal to have gays in the military, now I know you think Homosexuality is wrong but guess what-they still deserve the same rights as everyone else in this country and deserve the right to serve their country. He reformed the Student Loan program and created the city year program which allowed people to go to college who otherwise may not have-and gave them an opportunity to serve the community. I could go on into what he has done internationally as well, like his leadership role with the UN in the Peace - keeping missions in Bosnia and Somalia ( I already know what your going to say, so I am speaking of the peace keeping portion of the mission that helped feed the Somali people)

Its really easy to call people lazy but when you go out on your own you may realize that it only takes one small instance of circumstance to end up with your ass out on the street-you can generalize all you want about people on welfare, not everyone on assistance is abusing the system.

Clinton was corrupt. Corrupt people will be challenged...rightfully so.

The clinton pot smoking crusade, as you call it, wasn't even about Clinton smoking pot. It was about him joking about it in front of kids. (See last post 2nd page of this thread.)

Isn't it Bush that has this "new-tone". The dems smeared everyone that got into their way during the Clinton years.

I truely believe that the only way that the liberals will see the error of their ways is when it directly effects them. I know that this is a difficult job to accomplish because the liberal press has such an impact on our lives. Things shown on the news like dem's saying that Republicans want to take senior citizens money away and Republicans want to kill children and Republicans don't care about childrens food at school. I didn't say everyone is abusing the system. I said we need to get rid of the "welfare state" that Clinton and others like him have created.

Clinton did nothing about gays in the military. Nothing. He said he would in campaign promises, but truthfully, he hardly moved a finger.

Clinton promised we would be out of Bosnia in a year. They've been there 8 years and counting.

Homosexuals deserve all the rights everyone else does. That does not mean that they should be in our military. There has been a long tradition of high moral standards in teh military. For the US, that means traditional christian value, whether you subscribe to them or not.

There are many potential problems with allowing gays in the military. It doesn't have to do with discrimination. Its for the same reason the men and womens divisions of the military are kept seperate.

Student Loans: Sources? Mostly likely a republican bill that he signed. . .

Clinton cut funding for the military and turned them in to missionaries instead of soldiers. The military was never meant for feeding the poor. Look at the disasters that came of it...

From what I can tell Clinton did nothing productive. The few notable things he did do aren't to be proud of.

He raised taxes record heights of the middle class within the first 4 months of his first term...breaking a capaign promise.

He contiually vetoed a bill that banned partial birth abortion. . . murder.

He cut the military's funding by record amounts. We are still feeling the repricussions today.

He stood idily by when the U.S.S Cole was bombed.

He refused Sudan's offer of Osama bin Laden.

He bombed an aspirin factory to get the spotlight off of his scandals.

One word. Travelgate.

He tried to normalize trade relations with China..the most notorious human rights abuser in the world.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

How many members of his cabinet were brought up on charges? What mark did Clinton leave when he left the Whitehouse after 8 years - probably more shame brought to that office than it had seen in quite some time? As for teh booming economy while he was in office - He was riding on what Reagan had done - but I give him credit - at least he didn't kill it. How many times were his foreign affairs goals reached?
