nope no bad experiences on my end, matter of fact not 20 minutes after typing that god hate message i went to the atm where i found an extra $20 on the ground.

I have however seen people lose out on life because of "god" as there lifes continue to crumble around them they wait out for "god" to save them. Its a joke and a lie, god is nothing, you and only you can controll what you do and dont do, if i get hit by a car its because i wasnt paying attention, if i hit someone with a car its the same reason. Sometimes your the pidgeon sometimes your the statue, thats how life is, its not about "Well the bible said i am not allowed to do this or that" thats bS right there, A.) the bible was writting by a person so full of himself, that i no doubt believe he considered himself the god that is always refered too, i think the bible is just some messed up persons journal turned into a great book of holy awesomeness that causes long naps.

Ok, think about a world where no bad things happen ... in such a world, nobody would even know that things are good, because they don't have anything worse that sets good things into a relation. Actualy it's not even possible to make such a world (yeah, not even for god) if there are different persons with different points of view in such a world, because for example for someone an apple is something good and for an other person in that world an apple would not be good because a kiwi is better, so the apple is something good for one person and something bad for an other person, but by definition there's only good things in such a world, so different points of view are not allowed and so more then one individual person (aka different thoughts) would already render such a world impossible.

Now you could debate for years and years how bad something can be in a world as good as possible where individuality is allowed, but as everything is relative, you would never find a solution where everyone would agree that there's enough good and enough individuality to make all peoples happy.

If you think about that, then you soon find out that as more individuality you have, as more not so perfect things will exists in that world.

Don't point the finger at god if you never created a world with people living in if you never created such a world by yourself. (aka if there's a god aka if god created this world)

ill point two fingers at "god" all day if i have too one is my middle finger and on the other hand its my index, the amount of lives ruined be relgion is comparable to the amount "saved" very similar to microsoft and apple, microsoft is god and the people he saved, apple is teh people who know better.

Religion is partialy or as a whole human made, maybe most religions started as a good thing, but there are always people using religion to start wars, so blame them and not god for being mentioned in this religious writings. I don't like religions as well, but blaming god for religions or the abuse of them, that's not really a smart thing.

Blaming religion on god is like blaming rape on babies.

god is an opinion. Opinions are like buttholes, and everyone has one, so everyone has god in them by default. Other than that, god is man invented. Before mans brain evolved, there was no god, and after man has gone extinct, the god opinion will go with him. Only man has the ability to form opinions, and opinions are not something to guide your whole life on. We'd all do far better basing our lives on facts and experience. That's my opinion. ;)

I can insist on blaming religion for covering up the rape of young boys and not doing anything structure-wise in a systems that's failing the same society that it's supposed to be helping just screams "something's wrong" to me.

Back to the one thing that was said by Naked... he was like "I don't want to go into the nothing..."

Well the second you were to enter into the nothing, it'll have something. So nothing can't exist. Well, not with you inside of it.

The whole thing about who does what though, blame god for this, blame satan for that, put up two fingers to god daily, blah, blah, blah...

no better than the people that blame everything on somebody else. You're that way because you chose to be. Say otherwise, and you're in full-blown denial - yeah, I know, taking away options in a discussion is so underhanded.

But before this goes deeper into the whole God vs. Science issue, I just say believe what you want. And finding extra 20 bucks on the ground... yeah. I'll base my life decisions on that.

What if not? What if god really exists and people that had visions of him created the first strong religions? Of course it's possible that god is just made up by humans and all those visions where just dreams or haluzinations, but even that doesnt exclude the posibility that god really exists, not at all and there's not one physical law, especialy not the best proven of them (quantum mechanics), that would make something like a god impossible, the holistic character of quantum mechanics actualy has some strong similarities with religious views.

even though I believe, I'm about to contradict my own beliefs in god.

simply put, it's just amazing that the laws of hammurabi are echoed in the ten commandments. if laws were perceived to be made by men, then they'd have no impact or "higher power" to be enforced. I mean, think about it... if a man tells you to not do something, then it probably means he's either done it, or knows somebody that's done it. he's still alive, and free enough to tell you, so it can't be all that bad.

but the moment you put in there a higher power... well, now you got bargaining power. "the good book says don't do it or you'll end up in the worst place not known to alive mankind, forever..."

So, it's a possibility that god was invented to curb lawlessness.

But I don't mind being wrong. I guess me still believing is like me hedging my bets.

trust me. the moment I find out otherwise, I'm definitely going on a two by four in the teeth rampage the likes have never been seen before. that's a promise.

I agree that the Bible can be a great way to cause long naps but It wasn't exactly written by just one person, it was written by dozens and there's historical documentation and artifacts basically proving it was written over hundreds of years by different people.

I don't think the bible is 100% correct due to sometimes sloppy translation but it's certainly not just someone's messed up personal journal..

Whether you want to believe that those dozens of ancients were really telling the truth or not is another story..

and P.S. Naked I'm not extremely inteligent nor would I ever claim to be. I do sometimes make claims that other people are extremely intelligent and I would include Albert Einstein on that list..

all im saying is that if "god" was really mad at people for not believing in "him", why did someone lose $20 and me find it? what it comes down to is im happy with my self, and being a little light wieght wise aside im doing pretty well. I dont goto church, i feel its a monumental waste of time, if i really wanted to do somethign like that id at least turn it on on my tv and fall asleep somewhere comfortable like my bed or couch.

my problem comes from the thousands of people whos lives spiral downwards awaiting "god" to send them a mirical like is shown on every movie about the holidays or "god" himself. like i dunno its a wonderful life, his life is to him in the gutter and hes gonna goto jail, but whats this "god" kicks in and suddenly he gets a chance to see life without himself, that movie makes me sick everytime i see it. people would give there left nut for a house a wife and some kids.

i just think people need to stop relying on "god" and start relying on themselves..

decent looking guy, clean clothes, looks to be in good shape waiting on the side of the road for handouts, thats not how life should be he can work he should work. i bet he could get a decent job, and live a decent life if he would sotp relying on "god bless" and focus more on what he needs to do to survive.

now im not sure if hes even homeless, i just typed "homeless will work for food" into google and that was the only decent picture that came up that had a guy with a sign saying as close ot what i wanted. but if he is homeless there is no reason he cant change that.

Then I'm wrong, and so what? But the part about the first shamans having hallucinations is very real, and is probably the cause of this whole religion gambit. Do some research on Ergot, the fungus that has natuaral LSD and grows on molded Rye and other grass grains. Which were widely used as food in the old, old days. Think about it. ;)

Nobody's really saying that "god's angry" that you don't believe. Do or don't... that's up to you.

I know I could care less if you believed or didn't. I didn't even remark about your beliefs.

Why somebody drop a 20 for you to find later? Dunno. Same reason that people have holes in their pockets and don't do anything about it. Or why people drop things and fall over things... clumsy, apathetic, lazy?

Anyhoo, some people do the homeless thing for the above reasons. Some are actually mentally ill. You never know, and it's a per case situation.

But I don't get what homeless and god has to do with each other. That was quite random.

20$ on the ground has absolutely no correlation with God's will. God let's things happen every second of every day, and far bigger things than someone losing 20$

And even if God for some reason cared about someone losing 20$ on the ground I could still argue that maybe God knew that person was going to buy a bottle of whisky with it and as a result of driving drunk that night smashed into a little girl riding her bike.

I don't think being athiest is a bad thing . I think believing in God and doing wrong things is much worse.. It's kind of like the movie signs. Mel Gibson hated God ever since his wife died because God had let her die bla bla bla..
