Yup there's is nothing worse for claustriphobia then being in a small low profile car
caught in a traffic jam surrounded by suv's. Knowing that some crazed soccer mom

Your in the 40k range if you buy a boxter.
Sure they are good in the twisties [I think they hold a record in the slalom?] but they don't have much grunt.

I guess it's all about what you're looking for in a car, performance vs looks, or a combo of both.

If I was going to spend around 40k on a car it would be an E46 M3 BMW.
Beautiful looking car, great cornering and damn quick for an n/a car. And they sound great :D

Either that or a C6 Corvette :)

I have a VR4 [pic below] 3.0L, twin turbo, awd, aws, active aero, active suspension. They are damn fast stock, and if you put 3-5k into them, they can dip into the 11s with a good tune and good driver.

I dont have the money for a 911, i'd be getting funded for that. I've got the money for a boxter though. Oh and...im kinda trying to stay away from BMW's now...

Most of the guys I know've got some Jap or American car and they've spiced it up to get a real smooth ride. I'm beginning to wonder about that now. I drove the carrera I posted here though, the smooth turns you can pull off in that thing are killer compared to my old Z3! :|

btw i would go for an elise. Leave it blue. Dunno why, but I just think it's a rather cool car to have. Or go for a spyker. Those cars are really special

The Vauxhall Monaro is supposed to be amazing. They love it on Top Gear, and it's pretty cheap considering what it can do. If you want something that looks different and makes a lot of noise, consider and Monaro.
