I likes, I likes. It has a sort of Narnia feeling to it. The kids face does look odd but aside from that pretty cool mang. I especially like the litttle hidden goodie by scared. Hard to see but shows attention to the little things. Your lighting looks much better and I aggree with Nat looks 3dish.

I really like the background wall / door.
The saturated colors give a summerish feeling to the whole scene. It seems that it takes place in the backyard garden of a mediterranean property.
There is something off in the lighting of the tiger that makes him not blend as much as it could. (but i can't point my finger on what is exactly...)
There's something over the head of the tiger... an eye maybe?
and you're right, the arena is awfully dead... what's happening?

The thing over the tigers head is the roaring tiger from DaVulfs last volley. Kind of an after thought (for the newly calmed tiger ;)) I didn't figure anyone would pick up on it.
I wish you could put your finger on the lighting issue. It was bugging me to. But when I study it closely all the shadows and hightlighting seem to be in the right place. If you figure it out please let me know. The only thing I could think of was that he isn't as glowy as the rest of the image but I didn't want to not have a good focal point.
I'm going to stare at it a bit when I get home tonight, maybe ill put my finger on it.

Cool image Pea. I like it a lot...very vibrant and the masks are pretty well done. I like the fact that you just didnt "mirror" the trees/flowers, that would have ruined the image. The little extra effort to make them both different, pays off. Good job.
See for some reason I now feel bad. the trees are from a stock image ;) I'm not sure why I feel guilty. lol
I did very little in reference to manip on this one I took a background stock, a tiger stock, a grassy field stock, a door stock, and a elvish font. Comboed them and whalla ;)
the light on the tree is from the top down, the light on the tiger is from the lower right, diagonally to the upper left. (from what I can see) if you were still wondering what was off.
besides bit dodge/burn tool i don't know what could fix that.

i think the lights in the right place, this might help, but i still have a beginners eye for art...the trees, pots, grass, all are heavly shadowed, and go from dark to light really quick, your tiger is only shadowed on the left body, try adding more to his face...just a suggestion
Dave-0: But from what im looking at there is a hard light on the bottom section of the tree containers. This was part of the original stock, I didn't add it. So the harder light on the tigers chest matches that The chin of the tiger is up close so there is a shallower shadow but it is there and harder due to his head being so close. The greenery hanging over the tree containers is casting a shadow at the same angle. Also the shadowing on the tigers left side matches the containers as well.
I'm thinking it is kinda like there is a hole in the roof and a doorway in front of the scene and light is coming in from both directions.
I will say that I wanted the tiger to look a tad bit closer than he does and that is why I didnt add a shadow against the wall, that may have been a bad call.
I think rhyeen is closer. Not that I need to give justification but I think this goes back to the depth issue. I wanted him closer and more lit than the trees that were suposed to seem like they were further in the back.
Im thinking that if I moved the tiger forward a tad, downed the contrast a tad of a tad, cast a shadow across the grass and slightly up the wall, and added some light beams coming from above down on top of the trees grass and tiger it would help alot.
The image is staying as is for the battle but I really am likeing this image and may play with it somemore after the battle.
Thanks for helping me nit pick the images guys. Like I told DaVulf, lighting seems like it should be simple but its not. And it doesnt help that we take from many diff stocks with many diff lighting types and combine them. I think this is one of the better blend i've done so far, but I still have a long way to go.

I sure do, but I've always been averse to using a volley as texture and I usually use an element instead. I suppose its personal taste. I've got an idea at the moment, I'm just looking for stock.Quote:

This is the last volley for me, unless Pea wants to continue. This is the most radically different from my style image that I have ever made I think. Totally totally different. I hope you guys like it.
